Hi Phil, My husband and I adopted our cat Burnley, who like Dodge was rescued from the Burnley Tunnel last June. We were just watching your videos and cannot believe how similar our cats look, particularly now that Burnley has grown up. They must be brothers or half brothers. Many of Dodge's traits you captured in your videos are the same as Burnley's. I wonder if their mum is still out there :( Check out our Burnley on Instagram @burnleythetunnelcat. Hi Amanda, Thanks for touching base. I thought the same thing when I saw your little Burnley on the news after his rescue. They do look very similar and I reckon they have to be brothers or half brothers. It's too coincidental. I hope Burnley is bringing as much joy to your house as Dodge has to ours. :)
Hi Phil, It sounds and looks like Dodge is very loved and has a happy life. We adore Burnley, he is such a beautiful boy. He is so loving. Loves to cuddle, rub heads and sleep on our bed with us. He LOVES food (Dine creamy treats in particular) and has become a bit on the large side (6.7kgs to be exact). Our house is endlessly covered in his fur. Are any of these traits the same for brother Dodge? We live in Richmond (Burnley St coincidently). Are you near by? :o)
I'm not in Richmond anymore but grew up there and still have close ties the the place so know it very well. Dodge is a big smooch and very friendly and good natured but is actually very shy of anyone he doesn't know and doesn't like loud noises - he'll even take off as I'm about to sneeze. I reckon that's a legacy of his time in the tunnel. He's also on the larger side, too, and leaves tumbleweeds of ginger fur. His two favourite spots are in his bed by the window in the front room (as shown in this clip) and under the quilt. He's also very generous with the two other cats who joined the household as kittens after his mentor passed away.
