    I've been playing 30years and I've always broke off 2inches to the right of the brown and I hit the last but one red with middle/top right hand side. Always get a great breakoff with the cue ball behind either green or brown. Works for me.🙂

    Being in the USA, the only knowledge I have of snooker is gained listening and watching the events on the internet. I certainly enjoy your comments and enjoy learning the game. This does transfer nicely to the pocket billiards I do play. I have a curiosity for the pattern of eye movement as you sight and execute the shots. The great camera work on current snooker play has given me clues for different players.

    • @EannaButler
      @EannaButler ปีที่แล้ว

      This eye-look pattern is very interesting to me too! Flicking between cue ball and object ball.

    I, for one, love scrappy, 30-40 minute frames. It challenges players in other ways and we often see a more tactical game, which I like. It'd be a problem if was every frame, but once in a while it's nice to have the variety.

    Another excellent video. Such a pity, I do not play snooker anymore. These tips are invaluable for any new players learning the game. I remember reading books teaching you how to play over 30 years ago but nothing beats a seven times world champion showing you in a video. Thanks for the tip on opening break snooker rack - very helpful - Have to wonder if anyone in professional cue sports ever thought about making the snooker white and reds speckled - not dotted like the measle cue ball but finely speckled - this would make it much easier to see how much side or low or high a player is putting on the white and how much of the red ball he hits with the white cue ball. It would give some 3 dimensional effect and would be helpful for older people and people who don't have perfect vision. I think it would take some of the difficulty out of the game for amateur / weaker players.

    Great vid. Would love a video about imparting side spin on the ball. I use it to play shots but feel like I cue across the ball a lot. Not sure if the cue should be going through in a straight line, or where I should really aim at the object ball.
