Choosing the right campervan for YOU - Buying Guide (2nd part of the Base van later this week)
If you make a bad decision with your conversion, you can most likely rectify it, however if you choose the wrong van to start your dream campervan conversion, it won't be as easy to change afterwards.

I bought a VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate and twin sliding doors.
I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.
Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.
Vanlife for me is just beginning, it's a great adventure and I'm loving it. 😍

Managed to find a really well priced 150DSG Highline in Indium Grey for a very competitive price at Marshalls VW in Reading.
So refined compared to my old T6 110 manual!
Off to be converted in 2 weeks.
Fantastic, my spec that 😁 Good luck with the conversion. Along with the standard sound deadening, ask them to do the front doors also, it makes a big difference, as do upgrading the front speakers

Yes bi turbo do have problems with egr problem can total your engine. Check if buying one that it has been change part number has been changed.

As noted on a previous vid of yours, higher (passenger car) speed limits apply to ANY vehicle with a GVW under 3.05 tonnes that meets the DVLA criteria for a campervan, REGARDLESS of the vehicle classification noted on the V5C. Please stop perpetuating the myth that M1 classification is the only way in which higher speed limits can apply.
EDIT: Also, the additional safety tests you refer to have NO BEARING on the applicability of higher speed limits.
As I acknowledged. However type approved is far deeper than that and regarding the additional safety, I hope to bring that video soon once approved. It’s a little sensitive and actually shocking

@@richardburns5925I mean the OP isn’t wrong if you check the basic DVLA guidelines for changing the vehicle type on your V5C. They all seem to be cosmetic based rather than safety which seems a little strange
Or just get a Transit Custom or Renault Trafic and get stuff like cruise control, Aircon, heated seats, Bluetooth etc that VW are too stingy to include as standard. Not a fan of paying the VW tax myself plus the Transit is arguably nicer to drive
Everyone can choose their own preference, some people like to buy a van that will hold value and want to be part of the “scene” the events etc.
Others have different opinions. The Nissan’s are also another good option.
The Transit does drive very well and it’s going to be interesting what happens with the new alliance with VW.
Regardless we can all enjoy the outdoors the same 😀
