Listening to this again after having heard this piece so many times, I see how absolutely spot on David is riding that 5+6+5+7+5 rhythm and so on. Even more impressive that he makes the end product so cohesive and flowing.

Dude. Your musicality (and chops, obviously), are phenomenal. Any specific influences/lesson books/master class videos you'd recommend that helped shape you? You seem to have some Mark Guiliana-style licks in there.
Thank you so much - to be honest, not really! I think just learning songs and other drummers' parts is where my playing (and sense of musicality) comes from. Also I think learning guitar has really helped me develop musically on the drums. For the chops side of things, you can't go wrong with a bit of Stick Control (the book)

@@ManelRuivo Thanks - that's also just from learning songs with that kinda weird stuff in them. I'm a huge Dream Theater fan so they kind of normalised odd times for me
