Wow, it's hard to appreciate how forward thinking this game was at the time, and how many conventions it was breaking. Compared to games of today, this isn't very special (Dialogue trees, weather systems, open world, fully voiced cast of characters), but at the time, this was peering into the future. Truly a pioneer in game design, hopefully Shenmue 3 will be awesome, considering that tech can more easily keep up with Yu Suzuki's vision.

To this day this game does things that some doesnt like speaking with every person in the street with voices and you can walk away in the middle of conversation and there is even snow etc..not all games have that shenmue A FUCKING MASTERPIECE and shenmue 3 is gonna be even more insane!!!

Why does it feel like I see a good representation of China in a lot of Japanese media but never anything Japanese in Chinese media? I can only remember the zatoichi and one armed swordsman crossover as any kind of collaboration.

LittleFishChan It'd be nice for it to have just been 'upgraded' to todays standards, but not changed. I'd like to just finish the story now.

Amazing. After 15 years I am still amazed by the game and learning new things about it. Shenmue is truly a game for the 21st Century.

I don't see how people are hyped for the new Shenmue when the graphics wont be that good.
Preidon Games are not all about the graphics. What good is a game that's prettier then the rest if the gameplay, music and story are all terrible?
