Really wished you did these videos with both front and rear end more... All your old redesigns were only either the front or hte end.
The planetary gear e-cvt is used because it charges the battery in a way that’s impossible for a normal gearbox to do. Because of the e-cvt the battery is never empty and will never be dead weight as in other hybrids such as the Volvo xc60 you mentioned. When the battery is empty in the Volvo the fuel consumption skyrockets but not in the Lexus and that’s because of the gearbox.
Exactly. I hate when people get this confused because this e-cvt is not a belt driven system as a normal CVT is. It's technically not a CVT in the same sense.
@@lryoung17the term CVT is tainted. Toyota should just call it a "Planetary Gearbox" instead of "e-CVT".
This is a perfect format, combining redesign and review. Wouldn’t it be cool to add some sort of ranking of the cars you review

It looks pretty bland with all that black trim.
Overstyled = Not good looking
Something that is "over-" is never good generally speaking.
Current Lexus models look too busy design-wise, especially on the front!
................................ NOT a CVC transmission!!!................................ NOTE: This is a “NOT” repeat, not a CVT gearbox on the NX, ( many that can not afford this vehicle “try” to put it down by trying to spread this FALSE propaganda (do your research) ...this is not a CVT vehicle!)......it is an “ e-CVT “which is an epicycloidal transmission and no belt of any kind. eCVT is completely different from a cvt. eCVT doesn't use belt/band. Nothing are the same.
It's a transmission that contentiously varies, the mechanics are different but the outcome is the same !
That name is abysmal
