They won't. Vandy can't recruit to be a constant threat in the SEC yearly. They may get lucky a few seasons like the few successful seasons (by Vandy standards anyway) Mason had and the 9 win season James Franklin had before leaving for PSU. But all of the success they had years ago been because the East were terrible. They still kinda is besides UGA and Florida. Yall stop making this bigger than what it really is
@@billy7448 no does not negate most returns they fell on the ball at the 37 and could have let it roll out of bounds bringing it to the 45. This was plainly a SJW stunt by vandy
@@williammarks9829 it was a designated pooch kick. They let her kick because the Vandy kickers were all quarantined and she’s one of the best soccer players at Vandy
Saw her warming up from the 3 yard line...I can't remember the last time I saw a 3 yard field goal attempt during a game...maybe they'll let the cheerleaders play the offensive line
That's assuming the game gets scheduled and that's also assuming that Vandy doesn't end their season early with a Covid-19 bail...also known as an FSU.
Lot of bad takes down here. 1. It wasn’t a stunt. She’s a good athlete and all their kickers are out. The punter could maybe do extra points, but the punter is usually the holder on kicks, so you’d have to teach somebody to do that. They couldn’t just hold random tryouts due to SEC COVID-19 protocols, and she was already cleared since she plays on the soccer team meaning she was immediately eligible. Also, Vandy doesn’t have a men’s soccer team, so all their best options were going to be from the scout team or women’s soccer team. 2. It was a good kick. It was a designed squib kick that landed directly between the Mizzou coverage. It bounced around enough to give Vandy a chance at recovering it, and it stayed inbounds which forced Mizzou to jump on it. It was unreturnable which is all you can ask of someone doing that for the first time. 3. This didn’t get Mason fired. Going winless and getting blown out by a rebuilding Mizzou got Mason fired.
They protected her by having her run off the field after the "kick" so I'm wondering if she will even see the field against georgia with their speed and size.
Not a huge issue given that most kick coverage units prioritize the kicker not being involved in actual tackling. They are there yes, but in truth if you get to them something has gone wrong. But I think they just got embarrassed that they could not get a single FG or extra point opp, which she was there for. By Georgia their normal kickers could be cleared to play again.
The fact that Vandy hasn't been kicked out of the SEC is beyond comprehension. So many other teams deserve the chance to join the SEC and yet Vandy is tolerated year after abysmal year.
To help you understand Vanderbilt football, their crowd has not changed from pre-covid to post covid. I'm really not sure why we still allow them to be in the SEC honestly.
I live in Missouri, but I have been to Tennessee before (and all over the SouthWest). I have literally NEVER heard someone say they are a Vanderbilt fan. Ever.

I'm glad she didn't need to try and make a tackle. Ref's would have flagged the ball carrier for targeting and people would be calling for an arrest for a hate crime.
All the crappy sports talk shows today would be "Should the ball carrier have hit her as hard as he did? We'll take your calls and hear your hot-takes after this word from Manscaped." 😆
I believe she will run off the field after every kick. Her team won't be able to protect her next week against dawgs size and speed. If she was the last person on the field to stop a TD return of course she will get plowed over.
That was absolutely amazing! UGA is playing Vandy this weekend. It's hard to believe they actually beat us in Athens like 4 or 5 years ago. What the hell was happening?

I love your site. Right up until Mr. Cry me a RIVER comes on at the end. It's okay, I know it's coming so I just hit the stop button as soon as he appears.
Here is the top 6 next coachs for Vanderbilt to go after: 1. Jay Norvell (HC Nevada), 2. Clark Lea ( DC Norte Dame), 3. Curt Cignetti (HC James Madison), 4. Sean Lewis (HC Kent state), 5. Jamey Chadwell (HC Coastal Carolina), and finally 6. Lance Leopold (HC Buffalo Bulls)
Legitimately got nothing against Fuller. She's probably a nice young lady, but this was all a total PR stunt. I went in thinking "Ok, maybe she can really boot it and hit 45 yard field goals". Then they showed her warming up on extra points and she could barely make it over the crossbar. I get it, football vs soccer kick is different, but that's no excuse for putting her out there if she can't actually do it. No different than if I went out there and couldn't hit a 25 yarder and Coach told me I didn't make the cut. But hey, "Girls can do anything boys can do" is more important than getting your ass handed to you 41-0 by a piss poor Mizzou team right?" Luckily Spiller and the defense bailed him out. Hopefully it was just a fluke due to having 2 weeks off from COVID and too much Thanksgiving turkey.
Idk if you’re bashing Vandy or the commenter but the only reason she played was because all the Vandy kickers were quarantined and she is like the best soccer player at Vandy
They put her out because they had no other option. She plays soccer. Sometimes colleges pull up soccer players to kick. They suck 95% of the time. It makes sense that they suck because they aren’t playing their native sport. Vandy made a desperation move and I suppose was saved the embarrassment of seeing the consequences of desperation.
@@live4hockey2 I actually think it was a fluke, it was raining pretty hard at times, which affects not only his ability to throw, but also his target's ability to catch, that combined with the two week break, I am hoping is the only reason he had a bad game, but honestly the Audurn and Tennessee games are what really matter.

But the new coach won't do any better than Mason did, no matter who they hire.
Put more girls on the team
@@MrKingpin1205 also all the good players transfer to a better football school to get a chance at the NFL
What's sad is they have the money to go get whoever they want but they either won't spend the money or who they want don't want to be a part of a historically bad team.
You guys kept saying she "played" in the game when in reality you had a place holder for a kick off and obviously told her to kick it out which was a pathetic what 20? 25 yard kick so that she wouldn't be in play you know kickers have to make tackles too? Yall stop making this bigger than what it really is
How about a trade with the American Athletic Conference. UCF for Vandy.
Sorry to disappoint you, but the Big 12 took UCF. Better luck next time (:
@@kingpierce3347 yes they did.
WKU Hilltoppers?
Then kicks the ball 15 yards on kickoff and....thats it.
Facts cant even kick this is about ratings
It was 30 yards. Basically a higher than normal squib kick, negates most returns.
@@jdh6818 it was a designed pooch kick by vandy because she isn't able to kick off deep
The "Offensive Sickness Bags." Hah, hah!!!!
I seen a Vanderbilt game before. When they got destroyed by Alabama, but those were the only ones.
Saw her warming up from the 3 yard line...I can't remember the last time I saw a 3 yard field goal attempt during a game...maybe they'll let the cheerleaders play the offensive line
Love sec shorts 😍 right on every time, keep up the funny stuff.
Maybe my Vols can get another win this season against Vandy.
that's the only thing we can do now...i'll just cheer on my 8-3 titans.
Another win?
Might be better for them to lose so the fire Pruitt and hire Freeze.
That's assuming the game gets scheduled and that's also assuming that Vandy doesn't end their season early with a Covid-19 bail...also known as an FSU.
@@Marcmakefunhavefun Very true. I wouldn't be opposed to it either. I just wish basketball season wasn't delayed!!!
OMG one of the best ones yet! Nailed it.
As a Mizzou fan, even I thought that game was brutal to watch
They protected her by having her run off the field after the "kick" so I'm wondering if she will even see the field against georgia with their speed and size.
Is georgias players that much bigger and stronger than mizzous players to the point where its more of a hazard? They're both Power 5 teams lol
Kickers should absolutely be protected but if she has to be protected like a cheerleader... she has no business out there whatsoever.
@@eaglevision9791 a kicker is fair game like all the other players on the field
Ya know, there might be an untapped market for future Detroit lions with Vanderbilt. I mean, they're already used to disappointment so its perfect!
Not even letting a female soccer player do a 15 year kickoff as a publicly stunt could save Derek Mason’s job
Who knew virtue signalling wouldn't save his job?!
The fact that Vandy hasn't been kicked out of the SEC is beyond comprehension. So many other teams deserve the chance to join the SEC and yet Vandy is tolerated year after abysmal year.
I think its for the Baseball team...
I watched that time that guy called out Bama.
I still haven't met a diehard Vandy athletics fan.
You’ll meet some during baseball season but come football season they up and vanish like a fart in the wind.
To help you understand Vanderbilt football, their crowd has not changed from pre-covid to post covid. I'm really not sure why we still allow them to be in the SEC honestly.
@@dantheman1984 they raise the academic standard. It seems like every conference has the “academic” school
As a Vandy fan, this is so accurate
I live in Missouri, but I have been to Tennessee before (and all over the SouthWest). I have literally NEVER heard someone say they are a Vanderbilt fan.
Ever.
HEY! Vandy stole Rutgers’ idea since they joined the Big Ten!
...O...H
I guess Vandy had to come up with some kind of gimmick to get a positive comment from the football world.
Coming from a Ga fan - at least Vandy doesn’t have to deal with expectations. And then watching those expectations get crushed... Every. Damn. Season. 🤦♂️
Dude shut up I wish we were y’all right now are program is joke y’all are still one of they most talented teams in the country don’t ever say that again
It don't hurt as bad if you tell yourself it's a throw away season before it even starts. That's what I did when Newman backed out on us. Hopefully vandagriff won't decommit and will live up to the hype.
At least she kicked it more then 10 yards
right she did 20
I actually thought about tuning in. Glad I had other things to do now.
The least they could do is hand out ginger ale and peanuts to Vandy spectators!
More like those little bottle of liquor😂😂
That just proved how desperate Vandy is
And four years later they beat Alabama, almost beat Texas, and are 6 and 3.
That was absolutely amazing! UGA is playing Vandy this weekend. It's hard to believe they actually beat us in Athens like 4 or 5 years ago. What the hell was happening?
Vandy was 20 yards from taking a 4th quarter lead over A&M, played with Florida for a half, but when people just want to see a simple field goal attempt or XP we get nothing
To be honest I have never met a Vanderbilt football fan
As a somewhat vandy fan myself(my cousin went to law school there), I know that pain
I’m a Vandy fan and it is a life style thank god they fired “Defensive Minded” Derek Mason
Totally a PR stunt. She was not even the best kicker on the team.
Well her field goal range is only about 15 yards lol so Vandy wasn't coming close to that 💀
I love your site.
But hey, "Girls can do anything boys can do" is more important than getting your ass handed to you 41-0 by a piss poor Mizzou team right?"
At the very least Vandy provided a distraction to Kellen Mond crapping the bed. Good grief, all of A&M is ready for him to be gone right now so we can get rid of the last of the Sumlin era.
I mean we won by more than we we're expected to, plus it was raining. Mond isn't my favorite, but he might actually be the qb that gets us into the playoffs, so I'm rooting for him.
@@ignorantpost6051 He's just so bipolar though. He's either on or he's off, no in between. My opinion had actually changed this season to a degree. He didn't have that deer in the headlights look for the last couple of games, he was finally using his legs again, and his passes were on target. But watching the LSU game in person was just aggravating. It was like he went back to 2018 and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and his decision making was horrible. Luckily Spiller and the defense bailed him out.
Gator fan: I see at least 1 Vandy game every year, when we play them, lol. I was bragging this weekend how no way Vandy could fire a black coach who just used a female football player right after that horrible game. Boy was I wrong.
I am already seeing the alt-left calling them racist, sexists because she wasn’t allowed more playing time, and the coach was fired. There is no pleasing the looney left.
It's a lifestyle!
She wasn't even the first girl to play in a NCAA football game
I think she was the first to play in a power 5 school, not the first in the whole history of NCAA football.
1st to play in a power 5 game
Yeah there have been at least two before Sarah, I think New Mexico State and Kent State had female kickers, but Sarah is the first at a Power 5 school, and only because all their regular kickers were quarantined.
Kathy Ireland also played for the Texas State Fightin' Armadillos. She made a few.
@@billy7448 yeah the girl from new mexico played in 2003 so id say that is more progressive than this considering the time period
These just keep getting better
Huh, they didn't show a reaction to her actual kick. Gee, I wonder why?
because it was that bad 😂 and to be honest anything vandy does in football is that bad
This is how it feels to be a Tennessee fan.
I mean, it's another quality SEC Shorts for sure, but I almost feel guilty for laughing at Vandy.
The 2017 Cleveland Browns of the SEC
South Carolina fan here to say James Franklin was the only moderately successful coach at Vandy, I would like to see Vandy moderately successful again, hire him back when Penn St fires him
The "temper expectations light" is a thing of genius. At Ole Miss we call that WAOM. 😐

But hey, can y'all at least get a shirt with a logo from the last decade?
Every SEC short needs Hannah Kuykendall! She is awesome!
Ugh...I’m not even a Vandy fan and this made me sad...
One mistake, Mizzou is the only team this year to shut them out. LSU and the Gamecocks held them to 7 in their respective games, and they've scored on others.
Didn't the video acknowledge that they hadn't been shut out before this game?
@@coolrnt1 The video said they'd been shut out all season or something like that. Not the case. In fact they had some games where the pundits were talking about how they were improving.
