    I just added one of these about a week ago and I could not be happier. Thankfully it is just different enough from my Glock 21 where I don't feel like I'm cheating on it. What a shooter! Not a lot of rounds, but 100 through them as fast as I could load the mags and it was incredibly accurate. I was pushing a little to the right but not entirely sure it was from it being a new gun with a new trigger that I wasn't completely used to. This video really helped me decide on picking one of these up and I could not be happier... now to go holster shopping!

    Yea, a 545. I got the FDE as well. I found one in a local shop a few months ago, I hesitated because it was a bit pricey and it was a new release. But I’m glad I decided to get it. For everything you get, as you mentioned, I think it’s worth it. Mine has been very reliable, which is paramount. I have to agree with everything you said about it. The trigger, the sights, the optic mounting system, and even having an o-ring that actually keeps the thread protector on and not walking off is very nice.
    It fits my large hands nicely and is a good shooter. I really like it. Not much at all negative to say so far.
    I think we both have got a keeper.
    Thanks for the review.

      I really like it as well. It has the best trigger of any FN handgun that I have fired. Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by.

    You confirmed everything I wanted to know about this pistol. Love FN guns, and I want to add this and the 510 to the collection. Seeing as it fit your hands comfortably, it should fit mine just as much. The fact the trigger is indeed upgraded makes it the icing on the cake

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, for me it is the best trigger of any FN pistol. Thank you very much for stopping by.

    FN has pioneered the tactical look on firearms. The big plus are the accessories it comes with. You know ive shot the 510 version. Still dont like the hinge triggers or ambi mag release. Its still a good shooter. Nice review sir!

      As I mentioned in the video, I have never liked the FN triggers. But, the trigger in the 545 is really nice. As always, thank you very much for stopping by.

    The capacity is nice to have, but even the standard magazine is extended, giving it maybe 13 if the mag was flush like the usp. Having all the rds mounting material is a big plus.

    I'm with ya on the FN509 triggers. I ordered a 509M Tactical the day they released, and the shop owner tried to convince me how bad the trigger was with a 509C but it was just too pretty I couldn't help myself lol.
    I did a DIY Apex swap on the trigger and a bunch of other stuff, and it definitely helped but still isn't great.
    Side note: I'd love to see a picture of the striker/firing pin if you ever have the slide apart to clean it! One of the common failures of the 509s is that part breaking where its hollowed out in the center; the Apex striker is a solid piece.

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’m aware of the striker issues with the early 509 series. I hope FN learned from it and fixed it. Thank you for watching!

    They really are quality firearms. A frequent shooter at my range has had one since they were first released & he now edcs it w/an X300. That's too much for me to reasonably manage, but it's certainly a testament to its reliability that one would be willing to rely on it for daily use/carry.

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be too large and heavy for me to carry on a daily basis, but they are pretty awesome. Thank you for stopping by.

    Very nice video. I bought a gun like this two months ago and I fired it a lot and did not encounter any problems, but I noticed that the trigger is not stable when it is not loaded, like the Glock trigger. If it is pushed forward gently, it moves until it is as if it is loaded. Is this normal or not?

    i agree great gun! i got the non tactical MRD. no threaded barrel day sights no night sights around 830 dollars. it comes with some nice stuff but amazes me, ive watched alot of reviews on this firearm, how every single one meantions the wonderful range bag. the range bag is crap. the box it comes in is crap. amazing gun, wonderful extras but crap range bag. lol i know why they do it, it is cheaper then i hard case but lets just call it like it is. great, amazing gun with lots of amazing features but a crappy range bag. I know if that is all i can gripe about it really is a wonderful gun and a great video :)

    Do they have a USP 45 at Carmel? I found a USP 9 a couple weeks ago. I’m in the market for a USP 45. Or is that your personal USP 45?

    Any tips with shooting this at all technique wise or maybe it just doesn't jive with me? Beats the hell out of the web of my hand which I've had happen on a couple 45s but not all of them.

      Hard to say without watching you shoot it. I have medium size hands and it fits me perfectly. Perhaps it could be diagnosed if you take a lesson at your local gun range. Thank you very much for watching.

    Nice video! I'm a creator as well and have a Walther PDP IN 9MM. I "HAD" THE PPQ IN 45ACP AND SOLD IT. No worries! I LOVE THE PDP but........NO 45'S!!!
    I easily decided to buy the 545 Tactical but can NOT understand all the ads say its STRIKER FIRED, DOUBLE ACTION. I ONLY see one action. FN'S 545X hammer fired is a TRUE DOUBLE ACTION but the 545 is just STRIKER FIRED. ONE TRIGGER PULL!?&@?

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It refers to whether the striker fired mechanism has a fully cocked striker or a half cocked striker action. Thank you for your kind words and I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

    Sorry, striker fired pistols I just don't like. I love an external hammer and single/double action. I do own three of the FNX .45 Tacticals and for the life of me I cannot understand how the military couldn't find it in the hearts to supply our guys with these crazy great sidearms? I just have no use for a striker fired hand gun.
