I am learning to draw and every once in a while I run across a lesson that just instantly clicks for me. This is one of those. I love your teaching style and I get it. Thank you.
What helped me the most was to figure out the shape of the flower and then figure out where the center is. This way it shows how to draw the petals and which direction the flower is facing. Thznkyou so much.
This is going to be one of those videos I check back with over and over until it's a no brainer how to draw petals and different perspectives. Thank you so much for taking the time to simplify this approach
Thank you, thank you. Two tips are most helpful to me. Draw the flower shape and locate the center, foreshortening made easy! Also, draw some, paint some....not having to draw the whole of the picture before beginning to add some paint. I'm going to give this several tries today and I'm optimistic that it create an improvement in my work.
Thank you Michele! I've always stayed away from floral drawings/paintings but you've helped me realize how much satiation I can get from it! Also the tip about drawing through when drawing a leaf that's behind another, SUCH GREAT ADVICE!! that just helped me so much! Thanks!! 😊
This is exactly what I needed. I love the way you explain and demonstrate everything. It's hard to pick a favorite tip. Drawing the center line of the petal/leaf first, drawing the background item through the front items then erasing, finding the center point of the flower first to point it in the correct direction. These are all things I'm going to do from now on. Thank you!
All of your tips will be a great help for me. As a lover of flowers for more than 70 years, I have noticed that even artist who do tutorials often get the petals, or number of petals, wrong. That really anoys me. Anyone who wants to draw or paint a specific flower should have a reference picture of that flower. I really appreciate your tips and demonstrations. Thank you.
The English put an extra R in the middle that's not there. We do it with lots of other words too, I didn't even realise until I watched a video on language!
These are incredibly helpful tips. I’m amazed at how obvious some of them were and yet they’d never dawned on me. I’m feeling enlightened now 💡 instead of weighed down. Thank you!
Most useful tips; finding the general shape of the flower and the center. Also, following through when drawing flowers, leaves, and systems behind others.
The tip about finding the center of the flower after sketching the shape will help me draw flowers at a variety of angles much better! Thank you so much. My favorite subject is drawing and painting flowers but I haven’t mastered the angles in the flowers and leaves ( the infinity shape) so these tips will hopefully help. Definitely inspiring me!🌸🥰
Thank you so much for your helpful tips. I really use them now. My compliments for your colorful and beautiful work. I am looking into joining your Patreon. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Michele, I am drawing challenged. This video was so helpful. Your style of teaching step by step and great examples makes the subject easy to understand.
Thank you for this video Michelle. I have been wanting to do flowers and they never seem to turn out right. This has shown me where I have gone wrong and how to fix it. I really enjoy all your videos very much.
Flowers flowing freely…😁💕 I have had to watch this one a couple of times while drawing my flowers lately. So many tips that I can’t really pick out just one. The figure eight for turned leaves & petals is super helpful, along with the drawing through things. Also finding the outer shape & center point for perspective has been a problem before in the past. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you once again. Another briiliant video that had helped explain where I have been going wrong. The tip about how to draw flowers to face the right way is very helpful. Susan

Hi Michelle, I have to tell you a cute story. The flower and vase example in this video is the same composition my son used in 3 rd grade art lesson for a colored pencil drawing- I believe the ACTUAL lesson was to teach the kids to achieve tectures by placing different tectured items under the paper and rubbing color pencil on top of paper - to create mutiple and different kinds of textures, with various items- GREAT LESSON FOR THAT AGE GROUP! I framed this drawing my son did (HERE IS THE CUTE PART OF THIS STORY) " My son made his vase too large and ran out of room at top of page for all his flowers- he realized this and made some flowers droop to resolve his composition issue- BRILLIANT!(for his age at the time.) That simple miscalculation he made and how he resolved it - makes this color pencil drawing just adorable to my viewers eye!! 😍 I framed this drawing and it is proudly displayed in my home, today and my son is in college now! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE CHILDRENS ART- IT'S DEFINITELY FRAMABLE ART OF THE PUREST KIND!! I ALSO APPRECIATE "OUTSIDER ART" FOR THE SAME REASON- IT'S SUCH PURE EXPRESSION- FROM INSIDE THE ARTIST MADE VISABLE- ZERO RULES INVOLVED! HA!
