The first time I found out that a licensed Formula 1 car appeared in a video game was when I was 8 years old. That first time was with Gran Turismo 5: Prologue because an uncle on my father's side had that game. And since then, every time a non-F1-themed racing game features a licensed F1 car, it makes me even more passionate about racing games. P.S. I put this comment because I read your last post about why there are people who don't comment on your video. I honestly saw the video... But I forgot when it was, how it was, and in which video game, I found out about the existence of a licensed F1 car. As I watched the video, I forgot that anecdote. What's more, it didn't even come out to me at that moment.
I didn't realise until looking on Steam Workshop that the MP4/13 was officially licensed, I thought it was a mod. Mind you, original rFactor had a 2007 BMW Sauber so I shouldn't be too surprised.
Man, sound design never really moved on did it? Even if the engine sounds ok, the gear shifting is so janky in almost every game. iRacing and Automobilista 2 are the only ones that do a decent job.
It's like they all think there should be a gap between gears, but there hasn't been on an F1 transmission since Williams came out with the seamless box 20 years ago
in ac the f2004 shouldnt sound like that, atleast whenever ive driven in ac it doesnt sound like that at all, im not trying to attack the creators way of shifting but it could be the fact hes on controller or his shifting could be a little bit weird, along with other f1 cars (licensed and mods) they sound way better as well

I would much rather see comments about the games, cars and tracks that are actually shown in the video. rFactor 1 also had the 2005 BMW Sauber that you've shown at TRD3 And rFactor 2 had another licensed F1 car, the 2013 Marussia F1 car, driven by Jules Bianchi (RIP) and Max Chilton AFAIK
rFactor 2 has a Marussia indeed but according to IGCD it's the 2012 one. I can't confirm what you are saying about RF1 though. At least IGCD is not listing a BMW Sauber for it.

I've always had a soft spot for the way Polyphony modelled its cars, but Assetto Corsa also blew me away. What do you rate as the best representation?
With other types of cars you can do it though? I don't understand why F1 cars are a special case in that regard for so many people. I would understand if someone couldn't handle chase cam in general but why only with F1 cars specifically? For me they drive just as well with chase cam as any other type of car.
most people including me would say theres really no reason to have chase cam as the cockpit/t-cam gives enough space to see, as well as the chase cam makes the car look like its moving weird, and honestly the f1 cars dont look the greatest in chase otherwise i dont really see an issue with it@@Paragleiber
@@onlynovic That's nonsense. You make it sound as if for some reason cockpit cam is always preferable over chase cam as long as it gives you enough room to see. But why would that be? Chase cam gives you a completely different perspective and feel for the car, which many people prefer. People don't use chase cam with other types of cars just because cockpit cam doesn't give enough room to see. They use it because they prefer that perspective. Otherwise everyone would use hood cam, which always gives you clear vision even with closed cars.

You had some great laps on this video but I was a bit puzzled looking at the Assetto Corsa one as it just seemed quite slow, did you have any troubles with it?
Not at all. The car in AC was actually very comfortable for me to drive. And I am puzzled as to why you would perceive the lap as slow. From my perspective I am close to using the full width of the track in most corners, so I don't see how I could go much faster.
Ahh yes, Senna's McLaren, an F1 car I can't afford on GT7, because of how expensive it is Anyway, what's the music? I feels like a distant memory is opened on my mind, like sort from my childhood playing with GT3/4
The music is called Blue Moon and it's actually from GT6. And the McLaren is actually the reward car for getting all gold medals in the new master S license, so it is possible to get it for free now. It might be quite difficult though.

actually in assetto's case it should sound fine, something about this youtuber's inputs seems to make shifting sound jank for some reason
