Girl's girl? Is that mating & gender dysphoria? Heard Amber & this little girl seems gender- FUBARED. Love & Lust are not interchangeable but when u find an opposite-sexed lovey & u also lust this natural pairing, that is paradise.

I feel this in my soul. I dont have many girlfriends, and growing up I was bullied by girls.... but I so wanted to be their friend. I wanted those female friendships so badly. I was more intimidated by females than males because it was easier for me to get along with boys. Even though it was harder to be accepted by other girls, I still admired them. We are amazing creatures.

This is such a nice thing to see someone be honest about. I didn’t grow out of my “not like other girls” phase until a few years ago and now, looking back, I can say that I distanced myself from other girls not out of contempt for them, but as a defense mechanism because I felt like I was worth less than them and would eventually be pushed away if I didn’t push them away.

    • @superchroniko
      @superchroniko 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

This rings true with me also. I was ostracized and bullied in general growing up and ended up in online historically male dominated spaces
My interests mostly overlapped with guys, hobbies, things i liked. I havent had many female friendships since i withdrew indoors, but a few years ago i made a friend and id never felt more understood by anyone other than her til i met my husband.
I think having female connections is so important as a female, having someone be there on fewer conditions. Having someone you dont see as a threat, someone who will understand things exclusive to the female experience.
Its pretty easy to lose hope in groups of people, or people in general especially when youre isolated. There is health and hope to be found when you connect with others.

Sorry, this is a long one.
I was never told that Girls didn’t like me in elementary school, but starting junior high I missed the social cues. I was a late bloomer, I wasn’t crazy about boys, didn’t wear makeup and always wore jeans and Ragged, hand me down t-shirts. My parents were poor and it was not hard to see. All though clean I had clothes you could see were my older brothers clothes.
So, one of the first days there my best friend said she had started hanging out with a group of girls who was of the popular ones.
So did the other girls in my class, we were only 5, but it was my best friends job to tell me they didn’t want anything to do with me anymore because they were embarrassed.😞
So I stood there. All alone, new school and didn’t know anyone. My heart was broken over something I didn’t understand. We had been friends since preschool and had been with each other every, single day.
A group of boys saw the whole thing. One of them came over, dried my tears and said: you can hang with us!
These boys are to this day my best friends. I was the only girl for a long time, but after a while there came two more. Great girls! Funny, kind and didn’t give a shit about the popular kids.
I talk to them from time to time, but the boys, specifically two of them I talk to every, single day. I am married and have children and those two are my favorite people. They have stuck with me through thick and thin, they have saved me from players, Mended my broken heart, supported me when I met my husband and was there when I got my children and they were my two men of honor when I got married.🥰
The girls from my childhood has turned out to have had their peak in high school. I don’t think about them any more. One of them lives in a house with wheels and have 3 baby daddies, my so called “best friend” is no longer tolerated by anyone. Adults have a tendency to smell bullshit, and she is made from it.
But it leaves scars. I have severe trust issues towards woman, even though I am a girls girl. I support woman in every way, I’m just struggling to trust a lot of woman I meet and that’s sad. I miss having female friends sometimes.
Anyways, friendship is friendship and I can’t complain. I’m 43 now and I still have “the boys” and I love them dearly.
They are married to exceptional woman whom I’ve grown to love and respect and I hope they are married for the rest of their lives.
I haven’t thought about this for years. This video made me think of it. The world is filled with mean girls. I’m glad there are some good ones to.

Nah girl people suck. I was a tomboy but had a group of female friends in elementary school. In middle school and high schools it all went to shit because one of us met a new friend and tried to bring her into the group. Totally fine if she was a nice girl. That new girl ripped up years of friendships. Now none of us are friends. I tried making new friends but never really fit in with anyone. As a young adult I became more “girlie” and had a couple of female friends but never anyone that felt right. Now I feel like it too much work to maintain a friendship with people especially when they don’t put in the same effort, so I don’t waste my time or energy. I have my husband, family and pets and it’s enough.

Granted I consider myself nonbinary, I was born female and so I've dealt with that feeling as well. Just. Never quite fitting in. Even my less girly friends are so different from me. I feel like I don't fully relate. I had tons of friends that were girls growing up, but they always considered me to be the "masculine" one. Apparently so did some of their boyfriends, as more than a few have been jealous of me being around their straight girlfriends. 😐 It's not even like I'm super tomboyish or anything -- I still wear makeup and my hair is medium length. I dunno. It's a weird feeling, not really feeling like one of the girls OR one of the boys. Both are so foreign to me, but so cool and beautiful in their own ways.

@@LAWOODSTORIESha! If only it were that simple! Do you think queer boys being raised in Russia right now feel that way? Or even young lesbians in Russia!?
If you honestly believe they could, your empathy needs a tune up and until then you should prob turn down your voice except to ask sincere questions about other’s experiences. It sounds like you are fortunate enough to come from a background of pretty significant acceptance and privilege or enough space and resources to ignore the acceptance you were not granted (a privilege in itself). Most don’t have that and require the resources or love of parents/providers to find their way in life and will stifle themselves to get it and survive. Survival is far superior to sexual expression or experience in adolescence or adulthood and SO many people trade one for the other by either ignoring/lying/whitewashing it or by direct sales to buy their survival.
Consider yourself a fortunate minority you if you never had to do either. But don’t throw stones at those who did bc you throw from an ivory tower.
To be perfectly blunt, even most cis het folks have a screwed up relationship w their own sexuality bc of their upbringing that they battle to overcome and accept their own body and desires as they try to fully embody their own sexuality as their life (single or married) progresses. So even in a society that supposedly accepts and encourages their “norm” they are messed up about their sexuality.
Good luck to a young LGBTQIA+ person!
We’re all facing a largely uphill battle here is my only point. Perhaps you may find in time you have self discovery yet to accept also.

Yeah of course I'm excited a girl I'm into is nice to me, because i have a crush on her smh

She perfectly describes being a girl with brothers rather than being a girl with sisters. As someone who has a brother and no sisters, you just feel different and like you'll never be exactly like the girls who have sisters. I see tiktoks where girls with sisters make fun of girls with brothers calling us "weird" and "different"... doesn't seem very girl-positive to me if you're judging other girls for something that they can't control. If anything, it takes away from someone's femininity to judge them based off of their relations with men rather than seeing them for what they are, which is a girl/woman.

It's more like you might experience feelings like this because of the fact that you for some reason happen(ed) to be more comfortable around males and realized you are easier around them which doesn't make you a girls girl but just a cool girl how about that ? Later on you might become too feminine for males but still the girls girl feeling stays out 🤷🏽‍♀️

I tried to have a good relationship with my sister but we are so different. We have nothing in common. I try to talk to her about what I like and ask what she likes. But she's not interested. We don't like the same music, films, hobbies. The last time I saw her she yelled at me 3 times in an hour.
It makes me feel sad sometimes or jealous when sisters are close, i don't think we ever had that or i don't remember when we were. I understand what Billie meant. I tried to be friends with my sister but we tolerate each other in others company. I see a wordy birthday card going on about close bond stuff with sisters and think i can't buy that because none of it is true.

She was very protective of me as I was her. Just accept her as she is and show her you care and love her. I’m glad I did. For I lost my sister in 2022 unexpectedly to a heart attack that took my sister instantly. I miss her presence here on earth. I miss her differences. I know she’s with me in spirit all the time.

For me, it's my relationship with my parents more than anything. But I also feel it a bit with my sisters now...I still try with both my sisters and my brother but it has gotten harder and harder over the years. Tbh your sister shouldn't be yelling at you. She sounds like she's not being really kind to you. It is just crazy how we just grow and change and sometimes a sibling doesn't...they remain angry when we are trying to heal. It's just so hard to keep that bond strong, especially if it was never fostered much in childhood.

In reply to all 3 of you at the same time. I am the oldest, I have only one sister. We are ok, just not best friends. There was no major fall out, just lots of little differences of opinion. She is a lot closer to my mum and dad. We grew up together and were treated the same, so it's not a case that one of us is jealous of the other.
She is married with 2 children and I am single with none, maybe that makes a difference, but before there were still issues. There are plenty of pictures of us happy together, but it doesn't take much for us to fall out.
We are just different people. I tried a bunch of times to make things better but she either doesn't notice or isn't interested. I give up.

I was always around boys, doing “boy” things, and being one of the “boys.” It became part of who I was, so much so that I realized I was uncomfortable around girls or making new friends with girls. Adults always pointed this out about me. I didn’t mind, but I knew it was something different about me. When I got older and puberty hit and all the weird ages started happening, I became so self conscious about it. All of a sudden, I worried so much if girls liked me. Worried if they thought I was being a “pick me girl,” because of how natural I could be around the guys. A lot of girls wanted to date my boy family members and I started to worry if they only were trying to be my friend to get to them. I don’t know, that worry about girls hating me actually has always kind of consumed me from a young age. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only girl who has had those feeling. Billie puts feelings into words so well. I truly admire her for it.

I recently watched a video where Billie Eilish was tearfully expressing her love for Justin Bieber and voicing her worries about never finding someone who measures up to him. Following that, she posted this. In my opinion, social media and the internet have significantly distorted the minds of young people. This phenomenon isn’t limited to the youth; older generations are affected too. However, when young people share what they believe to be profound insights, it often sounds like confusion.
I'm not judging; it truly saddens me. No one should have to endure the kind of confusion that young people face today. The need for validation is more rampant than ever, and it contributes to many societal problems. It seems there's nothing that young people aren’t confused or worried about these days, celebrities included.
Let’s be honest-many young girls aspire to emulate their idols. While everyone should have the freedom to live as they choose, it’s never wise to have the blind leading the blind.

I COMPLETELY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree..she sounds just confused. "I felt at one with the girls "
...next line "i never felt like a girl".
What does that feel like? Also wanting to impress other girls is a natural feeling we have when we want another girl to like us and be our friend. I have it even as an adult. But yes..these young people are.exposed to muuuuch more than i ever wa😢s growing up. Especially transgender and non binary content. I believe it exists but in muuuuch smaller numbers than it seems these days. Also what has impacted this is gender ROLES over the years
Poeple are confused. Men expect women to ask them out. A lot pd females have expressed more masculine traits bc of high divorcw rates many women have to raise families alone and work and do so much. I believe in general we are so diverse as ppl. There are variety of different kind of men and women in they world. Find what it means to you and find happiness and self acceptance in your skin.

She's so eloquent and expressive with her vulnerabilities and doesn't play the victim. She doesnt seem to have an agenda except to answer the question in the best way she knows how. She's so grounded even through the uncertainties...I hope she remains grounded and genuine always

I think you are one of the best examples of a "girl" that the mainstream media needed to present to the world. Hollyweird took a big breathe of fresh air when you graced them with you're originality and authenticity. I truly mean that with every neuron in my body! You and the integrity you carry with you is just as beautiful as your physical attractiveness Billie. Girls are fucking amazing ❤❤❤
