The “rustic caramel” is super cute but ughhhh $44… if you love it then yes do it. The jeans look nice on your but yeah I would want the support. They have to be GREAT for $80.
The crop top is cute but it’s basic I don’t think it’s worth the price. I don’t love the sweater on you, the stripes are kinda weird looking on the arms.
The skirt is super cute but yeah $60… ugh. Maybe it will be on Poshmark in the winter and you can get it secondhand for next year.

It genuinely upsets me that you had a teacher who resorted to picking on you for wearing a dress. I remember feeling utterly betrayed when a favorite teacher of mine laughed when one of the kids who bullied me made a really humiliating joke about me and another boy in my class. I know they're only human, but they're also adults with a lot of influence and authority and I am so sorry that happened to you. Your teacher was so wrong to do that.

I had a history teacher embarrassed me in front of the entire class in 9th grade when we had to presentation and to this day I have a huge fear of public speaking because of him. He was honestly the worst teacher I ever had and 20 years later, I have zero respect for him.

That was horrible. It's bad enough you are trying not to get negative attention from other students. When a teacher does it. Like you said being an adult and having influence. It's inexcusable. I saw it some times in my school. I'm really sorry both of you went through it. ❤

I had a 2nd grade teacher who made fun of me for wearing dresses and having long hair. She hated that my mom would do my hair everyday. The teacher would pick on me in front of the class and even threatened cutting off my hair! I was always the "quiet" kid, so I was extra mortified.

I am a teacher and I was saddened to hear about her experience. There are some teachers who sometimes seem to forget they aren’t supposed to be “the biggest kid in the classroom.” Some are trying to fit in with the bullies so they can “connect” with them. All are horribly misguided. Some teachers forget that all students DO learn, just not necessarily the lesson you are trying to teach.

Stitch Fix has been amazing for me this past year, I have lost 110lbs and have had absolutely no idea how to style myself. I'm finally able to wear clothes that I have wanted to wear for years. Also, I've been going down a size every month or two and it is so easy to adjust the sizing to accommodate that. There aren't many stores in my area, and even fewer of those were allowing you to try on clothes right now. My stylist has been absolutely amazing and seems like she knows me perfectly. She has never even seen a picture of me, but she KNOWS my style. It is crazy. I regularly do the style quizzes and it have even bought some of the pieces they suggest to complete outfits. I've gotten 6 boxes and have returned only a single item, everything else has fit beautifully and has been such amazing quality. I preview the items before they ship and pick my favorites. As someone who has been hiding behind my drab clothes for years, Stitch Fix has been a major part of my life change and I am grateful to my stylist! Shout out to Kyla! The pricing is not for everyone, but the quality of the items is fantastic and I have pieces that will last for years.

If they make a video and earn money off of it, then that haul becomes a business expense. So it is ultimately lowers their income for taxes and they get clothes from it which they can resell and make money.

I’m fortunate to live in an area with tons of discount stores. One chain that started locally, kinda branching out, is Gabes/Gabriel Brothers. It started in a tiny strip mall when I was kid and the clothes would be in boxes on the floor and priced flat from .25 to $5. Their father technically started it during the Depression with a horse and buggy, going door to door, but the sons took it to retail in the 80’s. But, the clothes you would find in high end retail stores you find there for amazing prices. I have bought coats marked at $300 for $20, for instance. Love that store. I have also found perfumes, purses, shoes, homewares, etc. You can walk out with huge bags of stuff and spend 10% what regular retail would have been at the mall. My grandson loves that store. People love or hate it, because it’s not the most organized store. I always have really good luck, my mom hates it, lol. I can’t bring myself to spend more than $10 on any piece of clothing in general.

If you tried them on in a store you would pass. And that tank top, although it was super cute on you, is absolutely something you could find at like Forever 21 for like 1/3 of the price. Just my two cents

I get Stitch Fix in the UK. I chose the lowest price tier and in the year I’ve had it have had a box every 3 months. Have kept 2-3 of the items in each box and have been pleased with them. In last box I was able to choose from a selection before they were posted which I think was a really good idea.

I used to be a stylist for another company! I worked for a plus size company, so most people who buy those sizes are pretty used to shopping online and having to order clothes to try them on and then send them back, and lots of their customers don’t live close to plus size stores. If you’re able to reliably shop in person…I’m not really sure what the draw is.

I love that skirt and think you'd wear it a BUNCH! And you clearly love the cardigan. I agree the sweater wasn't the *most* flattering and I'd have sent it back, too. The thing about Stitch Fix is the more you shop, the closer they get to your actual style (so long as you're totally honest about what you do and don't like about each item). And sometimes I'm really surprised by things I'd think I hate until I put it on! AND, I don't love shopping. Also, it doesn't cost you anything but you're time and a styling fee. So keep trying!

If the quality is there I can see me buying more expensive things, but if the quality of the pieces is average is a pass, plus I concider also the wearability of the clothing that is important too. I don't care about brands much unless the fabric they use and manufacturing is good.

  • @ladybug2899
    @ladybug2899 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I've used Stich Fix when I wanted to explore different brands and styles for my wardrobe. I got several things that I really liked and was able to try some brands that I still shop at today. I think the best thing was a really cute summer dress with pockets that I still have after several years. I think Stich Fix is a good box if you have something you want to try or an occasion or like my husband who just hates everything about shopping :). You get 2 or 3 boxes and expand your wardrobe with things that you like and then cancel until you need them again. I don't think this is a box that you get for years and years every month.

Sorry, NOT worth $60....but the sweater is really pretty and depending on the quality $40 is...ok pricewise. The tank you can find at Walmart for $12! $30 FOR A TANK TOP???? They must think we are either extremely wealthy (money tree in the back yard) or extrememly stupid. I just finally ordered a pair of jeans, and it took me forever because I waited for the price to to come down. They were $40 and I paid $24.99...so I'm happy....for now. I don't have to deal with dressing rooms, bad lighting, not having my size, wearing the wrong bra/underwear/shoes, overwhelm with choices, and time crunch. Also, I can try the pieces on why baby is sleeping and I don't have to call a sitter.

I think it's nice to treat yourself to clothing sometimes! Of course, you can find some of these pieces thrifted for cheaper, for sure. But, TJ Max, F21, etc....their clothes just don't hold up the same way (imo).

Also I find shopping in general overwhelming and StitchFix really helps with that- You just say yes or no to 5 items. And the prepaid shipper sold me- I always hated having to return things because it was always so complicated but with them it's not. They have gotten pretty good at sending me things I like and that fit me perfectly. My wardrobe has really stepped up over the time I've been with them. I like stitch fix because if you're lucky enough to stick with the same stylist the boxes get better and better the more boxes you get. You have to make sure you are filling out the review of all the items at the end or they won't adjust anything. I have also found that they really read and pay attention to your notes so if your searching for dresses for a semi formal event they will send you a full box of dresses that you likely wouldn't find in stores. It is pricey so I only so a couple boxes a year but I see it as a nice little treat for myself. They also keep track of what you keep and will send you items that pair nicely with stiff you purchased on the past which is kinda cool.

I loved stitch fix while I used it. I got over $700 worth of free clothing in the year and a half of time I was actively getting monthly boxes. This is because they would sometimes send a “Give $100 Get $100” link and you can get up to $100 a year. I did spend a few hundred dollars of my own money as well. Where I live it is more difficult to find nice clothing in my size and this really opened up my wardrobe for me and made me more adventurous. You can pick to get less or more expensive items. Request specific items. Request to never get a specific item, color, pattern, fabric, etc. I didn’t need any more items so I’ve been on pause this year but I might start up again soon.

My daughter enjoyed Stitch Fix because they sent her stuff that she wouldn't have picked out herself in a store. It came about after we went into a store and a nice sales lady was helping her pick out a dress and offered this one that she and I both had made fun of on the hanger, but when she tried it on it was absolutely gorgeous on her. Since then she decided to try different things and Stitch Fix was a way to do it for her in her VERY busy life. I tried it too but didn't like it, the stylists I kept getting didn't listen to me so I kept getting shirts that were WAY too short (big boob problems) but I did find my absolute favorite pair of jeans through them. So the service works for some but not all.

I love Stitch Fix. I have a prosthetic breast and a colostomy bag (TMI for a reason) and I’ve really, really struggled to dress to accommodate these. I wore clothes that were 5 sizes too big to make sure people couldn’t see my ‘add ons’. I tried Lookieroo first - it was dreadful. They sent a crop top and low cut top 🙄. Then I tried Stitch Fix, I could have cried. For the first time since my surgery I was wearing semi fitted clothes that covered my bag and boob. The stylist (Lotti) has been so wonderful and makes suggestions on how to wear lower cut tops without showing the prosthetic. I’ve never felt better dressed. I have zero sense of style anyway, so I love having a stylist. The fact she helps me cover problematic areas is just such a bonus. Loved the cardigan on you btw (I reckon a year after getting it, you’d be well out of your return period 😋)

I am stunned at how well matched to you this box was. Everything looked really good on you. I really like the little black top and the cardigan on you but I think you could buy and wear any of it and you would look great

Those jeans looked really good on you, I know you said you were a bit iffy about them but if they are actually comfortable and you would wear them I think they looked really nice. Not sure if this helps but just wanted you to know they did look good

I honestly love stitch fix. I've had five; purchased 3 completely and about 2-3 from the others.
I don't have the energy or the desire to shop for clothes and I'm also extremely picky and bored with a lot of stuff. I can tell the stylist exactly what I'm looking for at that time. I got a lot of really fantastic staples from there and I recommend it to people all the time that have issues clothes shopping.
Also, there are tier prices. I think there's 4. There's an under $40 option I think is the lower one. My aunt does that one and was happy.
I get the top tier. My orders with the discount are usually around $300

I tried it for a few months and got some great pieces. When I first signed up I was able to select that I wanted cheaper items and that helped. I still would get a piece or two that was not worth the price for me but it did help me to try things on I normally wouldn't and then found I actually liked how things I avoided looked.
