    If you want simple control of Lego hubs with full access to all power, I would say try Bricklife Scratch first. No programming involved. You even have access to full Scratch, so you can make GUI interfaces on your computer, use guestures, sound input and more, even display the status of your motors and sensors on the computer screen.

    Awesome is there a simple interface that can pair this with an existing phone app or other form of rc?

    • @pybricks

      Yes, that is possible! We are working on that right now. Our first priority is to support the Powered Up remote control. That’s the one that comes with the train sets, but you can buy it separately. We will make it work for the Technic hub too!
      What else would you like to see?

      @@pybricks Can you fix the USB driver thing? We found out that in a classroom, you need to reinstall a USB driver for EVERY HUB on every machine you plug it in. Somehow the driver does not work for all hubs by default. So we set them all back to Spike firmware (including the mindstorms ones) and use them with Bricklife now. We need the LEGO firmware to act like a USB flash drive or so, as you see on say a Microbit.

    • @pybricks
      @pybricks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lovemadeinjapan USB is only required for the firmware installation, which should be needed only once. Programs download and run via Bluetooth with no drivers needed.
      The USB update procedure is built into the hubs, so not something we can change.

      You can always connect with the official LEGO hub if you want to go back. For help with Pybricks, make a post here: github.com/pybricks/support/issues We're always happy to help!

    Does the computer have to be paired to run the code? Does the code get downloaded to the hub and then run without the computer being connected?

    • @pybricks
      @pybricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Connect with the pybricks web app to download the code the hub. Then it runs all by itself.

      Hello.
      Actually there is a way to reinstall the original boost firmware. Just follow these steps. The original boost firmware is required to run scratch.
      1. open the lego boost app (on your phone)
      2. open a program (any program, you can create a new one if you want.)
      3. When it says "press the green button", long press the green button until it turns purple.
      4. The boost app will reinstall the firmware on your move hub.
      5. You should be done!
      Hope it works :)

      @@pybricks I am curious if it is possible to make Boost-hub into a "slave unit" for Mindstorms Robot Inventor, using Pybricks for Boost to receive/transmit signals, but using the official hub-to-hub Scratch blocks for the Robot Inventor hub.
      I think the Scratch blocks are friendlier to younger kids, than jumping into Python, but it would be cool if it is possible to make the "dumb hubs" into remote I/O for Mindstorms using official hub-to-hub communication.
      "dumb hubs" - in the sense that they officially require an app or external controller. But of course using Pybricks we can make them "smart".

      To go back, just press and hold the button just like at the start of the video. It will blink purple. Open the official Powered Up and it will update/restore the hub.
