i bought your cards and hair system, despite being more than capable of making my own after watching this, because reward where reward is deserved. Thank you, excellent vid.
Thank you, hair cards is hot topic and the videos and tutorials are almost none. I had big problems on baking maps before some time, and now I learned even more things from your video. Now make a hair cut :) also in some future videos do some male short hair, and Fur is also a big problem for me and maybe everyone... :)
I bind doing this in Nomad sculpt for years but not in blender because it is hard as shit man thankfully I’m getting used to it with the tools and stuff
So I tried making an ambient occlusion map as you very-briefly explained at 6:04, but mine didn't look like your viewport. Mine looked like black hair. I had to flip the colours to make it look like yours. Anybody know why this is???
If possible, Could you make a tutorial on how to properly cover parts of the head texture’s with hair? So that we can kind of get an illusion so that we don’t see parts of the head we aren’t supposed to see. A lot of triple A games do this. Sorry if this was hard to explain.
@@AbdulMuneeb-s2x those don't appear for me. I have instead in the Settings> "Backface Culling, Displacement, Render Method, Thickness" then below that is volume setting containing "intersection".
The ambient occlusion thing is not working for me, it's either completely black or completely white. Everything else works fine, but not this. Any solution?
There might already be other tutorials by other ppl on TH-cam. I'm pretty sure I've seen them. U can try one of those and then use this tutorial's hair card as a material. Edit: I tried my own advice but it still doesn't look good lol I too am looking forward to the next vid!
this might be a silly question, i’m pretty new to creating game ready characters, so sorryy! but can i get the hair cards you created, place them out in blender but do the rest of the work (like changing the color, rendering etc.) in unreal?
I think I've found the solution, have you aligned your hairs on the X axis? If yes, then here's the problem. You should align them on the Y axis (numpad 3).
Wonderful tutorial! Is there a way to output root gradients, ID maps, and flow maps for these assets? UE5 and REDEngine require these formats for their hair.
hey PixelicaCG don't know if you will see this but if you do can you tell me what I am supposed to do when the geo nodes do make the hair gigantic, I really don't know how else to explain it without showing a picture.
@@PixelicaCG ok to explain my problem better my hair is very small at the start, I have the hair I am using in a sort of curdled all the way backwards, and when I activate the geo node it makes the hair giant in a bulge type of way. I am not sure if the hair thickness part in my node works because when I actually go on to the hair thickness function it does not do anything, so I am wondering if there is by chance a problem with version or maybe there is a add on I need to have active to make this node work is, is there some type of node you need for the hair thickness to basically is there any dependencies that are required to make it work
Hi, I’m interested in purchasing your 'Hair Card Pack,' but I couldn’t find a full tutorial for it. Could you please showcase it or provide a guide? I’d really appreciate it! You’ve been inactive on Discord, so I’m reaching out to you here instead
Do you pay any attention to what people say in the comments? I've seen multiple people across multiple videos telling you to stop talking so fast yet you don't. So many Blender TH-camrs have this problem. LEARN TO SLOW DOWN.

He's back at it again, thank you for all the hard work and things you contribute to the community man.

now how do you get the blank alpha mask hair cards to sample the color of the emission object based on each hairs location

if im able to finish my game im definitely putting you on the credits 👍

Hey, just a heads up- that node system you allow for download of only the nodes is actually empty.
Needs more views ❤
Its only few hours from release im sure he will get a lot of views.

Sorry if this was hard to explain.
This worked for me:
Select hairs > Material tab > Settings > Change BLEND MODE and SHADOW MODE to APLHA HASHED.

I'm having the same issue, did you find any solution?
Thanks for sharing the tutorial 🙏 Now to actual hairstyles and possibly exporting them to UE5
Where is the next video? Because you didn't explain how to use the curves with the hair cards like you have shown at the end of this video.

he titled it "Ultimate Guide to Creating Game-Ready Hair in Blender" and shows how to make the curves.
Great video, thanks!
8:05 What node is that?
bro that's the photo viewer in windows 10 looking at the texture he just downloaded. lol.
instead of Render ing it in evee and cycles can we using viewport render??

Amazing
Im new and struggling with the whole "Get a render with cycles" things, mine are all pixelated
Whenever I plug the tangent normal into a black and white color ramp it's just all black. Anyone know how to fix this?

u mean the thicness of the hair? u can tone it down from hair thicness, if that's not what you mean then i don't know :D

I experimented with hair cards but I ended going with polygon hair because I can 3D print it.
No matter how big of a texture i make my character still looks like a crackhead!

LEARN TO SLOW DOWN.
You can click the gear icon near the bottom right of the video and change Playback Speed. I usually speed up videos cuz I'm so impatient.
@@amixofgeekcontent I know that. But talking slower would still be nice.
