Maxwell shouldn't have implied Fran was stupid, but no man should have to endure such unprofessional shenanigans in his home or around his family from ANY woman.
@@christopherbrown5409 And furthermore he loves this woman so how desappointed he was when he saw her smoking at family home (even it's a trick). It explains all his angriness.
I wish you'd have kept in my favorite scene in the episode: when Maxwell calls Sylvia who says something like, "I haven't talked to her since you called her a brainless, big-haired schmegeggy." Her delivery of that line kills me every time!
I'm seeing something wrong with this picture. Max bites Fran's head off for smoking and he tells C.C. to smoke outside and to quit smoking but he's allowed to smoke cigars whenever he wants to.
a real "do as i say not as i do" type of dad. though to be fair, cigars aren't considered as dangerous, they're not nearly as addictive and you're not meant to inhale the smoke. not saying they aren't bad for you, they are, but it's easier to take cigars in moderation. also it's a class thing i guess and it was the 90s, we know a lot better about a lot of things now
Always lovely. I love the fact we're truly fans of The Nanny, we know all the dialogues, we are familiar with her beautiful outfits and we could die for Fran.
what i love about fran is that you may call her lots of things but definitely not smart. she came up with a solution instead putting in jeopardy her relationship with maggie or hers with her father, even though that would be the right thing to do.
That whole “that’s what Newt’s momma called my sister in law” joke is a reference to an interview where Connie Chung got Newt Gingrich’s mom to say that Newt has said to her that Hillary is “a bitch”.
Also the “lucky Bill even let him on that plane” is a reference to an incident where Newt was angry Bill made him ride in the back of Air Force One, rather than up front. Some people claimed that was part of what motivated Newt to bring on a government shutdown.
It wasn't shown in this clip, but I love how Niles was the one who figured out Fran's clever plan, and not Maxwell. "Someone in this room is stupid, but it ain't me!"
Fran: 'You'll pay me THAT much?' Maxwell: *nervously* I'll match it! Fran: 'And my room will be in the east wing!' Maxwell: *wringing hands* 'New carpets! New drapes!' Fran: 'I'll get to meet Barbara?!' Maxwell: 'Welp, can't match that. Pack it in and go home, old boy. You lost her.' Fran: 'Oh, Walters...' Maxwell: 'YES! Back in the game, baby! Now reel her in!'
This is why you should never overdo things. Fran was getting away with making Maxwell think she was talking to Hillary. New Carpet, New Drapes, and a Raise in Salary. Stop right there, thank her and end the call. Why would Hillary be beging? Come on. LOL! 😆
Maxwell - thinks she's pretty and attractive, but stupid. Haven't we all heard that 🙄🙄🙄 sooo stereotypical. That annoyed me about Mr. Sherrfield, always underestimated Fran
