I lived/worked in the PI from 1982-89 at one of the small bases (NCSP San Miguel) on Luzon. I have 2 interesting stories of used vehicle transactions I was involved in. I worked 7x12 so time was limited.
    1) I took a 1/2 day off to go to Clark AB to buy an older VW squareback. I tried to inspect it completely, but time was short. I transacted the deal and started the 80 mile drive home. About 15 miles into the trip, I lost brakes completely. Turns out the brake manifold had previously cracked and was epoxied back together. Ended up driving the final 65 miles through PI traffic with no brakes depending on downshifting to slow down.
    2) I bought a new 1983 Honda XL 600 from Subic, which became my primary transportation. I put about 45K hard miles on it before I blew a hole in the piston. Ended up buying the identical bike from a friend's estate after he was murdered. I used that bike for the final 2 years but kept my original one for parts (the piston and repair would have been about $350-400). At the end of my stay, when I sold the broken bike AS-IS but gave the buyer the info on the parts he needed. Instead, he had the piston brazed/repaired and resold the bike w/o telling the new buyer about the problem. That repair would not have lasted 10 miles for me, the way I rode.
Moral - Buying a used vehicle in the PI is a crap shot. You never know what kind of crafty patchwork has been done until it bites you in the butt.

Nice video. They did a nice job converting that chassis cab to a finished product. It seems pretty quiet for a diesel. One thing missing is the price for that nice truck (even a ballpark like "under PXX,XXX" would be helpful for anyone interested). For a 2022 it probably would not be cheap, but it would be nice to know how it compares with Toyota or the Ford Ranger. I would suspect it costs less.

Hello Hector and thanks for the question. I am not sure what specs you are asking for but i can tell you this. It is called a double cab, What you and I would call a crew cab or a four door. It is tall, taller than most pickups. I used to own a F250 on 35s and this truck is every bit as tall. The ride is real soft and bouncy like the air suspension in a semi.. The interior is roomy. The rear seating area has more room than my former f250. The front of the cab has less room than the F250. It is a good truck.

I’m sorry brother, you can’t leave the door open just like that. Some one will jump inside the cab and steal your truck. Or someone not looking and hit your truck and rip your door. Just be aware of that brother man enjoy your KIA. Wish they have that model in North America!
