Must be crazy trying to mount everything down to make the setup from scratch, (hoses, proportional valves cables, tanks, etc to all be placed where they need to be and make sense) I hope that I can build a professional setup like this one day and not get batch mixtures incorrectly and ruin a roof haha

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bleed valve ideally would be shorter hose but it’s still better to bleed in a 5ft line instead of it having to bleed the air through 200ft of hose.
      I put the valve before it goes through my reel right after output of pump. Hope that helps

      As far as marketing I try to do many different things and never rely on just one thing.
      Some of the many things I do, hand out business cards / flyers to HOA and anyone I meet. Huge banner on my trailer. Google keyword ads, Angi Leads, Organic website traffic using basic SEO tricks, BNI, facebook buy sell group ad once per week and emailing other business professionals to create a partnership.
      So many different things to get the best results I work by myself and have full time job. Typically I average about 10-15 jobs completed each week and spend around $300-$500 month on paid advertising.

      There are a ton of different brands I’ve been trying different ones to see which brand is the best.
      Currently using Suttner st-500. 8gpm
      If you type in google soft wash wand there are few companies that sell them. Anytime I buy surfactant I just buy extra wash gun as they run $20-30. But only seem to last about 3 months. Ball valve style will last much longer and cheaper but I just love only needing 1 hand to do the job so I don’t mind paying a little extra throughout the year

    #softwash. All ai need is a 12volt marine battery to run my 12 volt pump? My setup came with a generator just for that little
    Pump. I think that’s way overkill and adds lots of weight to
    My trailer and takes up
    Tons of Room.

    For Sure That a battery is just fine? Obviously I’m just Starting Out
    How long does the battery last? Do you put

    Just curious.. why do you even need a valve on the water.. since it is always 100% on.. and there is no reason to ever use just the SH or soap valves without water.. why not just have the water without any valve and when you flip the pump on it pulls water as it does with the valve?

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. So from my research and talking with others even a straight pipe instead of valve will actually give you more than water as the valve slightly restricts it I tried testing it and can work just need to play with the adjustments.
      There is times I have had to run with the water valve cut back a little which brought the strength of mix over the 6% mark mainly on a really really bad tile roof. I applied several coats at 3-6% but wasn’t normal tile even with soap to maximize the cling time wouldn’t make it clean so I cut back the water to make the mix hotter

    • @b3owu1f
      @b3owu1f ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pressurewashingguides3178 Interesting. So mostly to give more SH percentage if needed. Makes sense. I asked mostly cause most videos seem to indicate that the water side is full blast all the time.

    I liked your info. But regarding the metering valve info. You might do an experiment with having a plain ball valve on the water line as you suggested, compared to having matching metering gf valves on the SH and H2o. The valve openings even open 100% are different so the metering would not be equal giving you 6%. The plain ball valve would allow more water to flow more than the GF SH meter would giving you a not a 50/50 mixture.

      the sh i was buying was 12.5% i believe which is pure SH. If you buy like small jugs from like walmart it is like 10% strength I believe. So depending on how you change the dial is what percent mix you get. I always left water valve at 100% open so if I did half way on the Sh valve would be like 6.25% which is usually stronger than you need for any roof. Always start with a little weaker mix and turn dial up if you don't see the results you want after about 10 minutes of waiting.

    Why do we need three different hoses

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      one for soft wash (blue one) and I have 2 8gpm machines so I could run both in theory but really only need 2 hoses.

    so did you build your own proportioner or buy one complete? could you do a break down list on what you used? thank you

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should have a video on my channel talking about how to build proportioner. The key whatever you do is buy the better metering valves as the cheap ones break often but it’s super simple to build yourself you can buy all parts off Amazon. Cheap way is like $120 to build the better valves ends up being like $400 to build

    #softwash Excellent video, I just 2 questions, how are you incorporating/connecting that to your pressure washer engine/pump or is it running independent? What kind of range (max feet/distance) you getting from that 12v after running through 200ft of line.

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not connect to pressure washer I run it as a separate system. With the 12v I get about 40ft of distance max if you have a fine spray with a wider spray maybe only 20-30ft

    • @pressurewashingguides3178

      I always try to use straight ones myself but either way you want to use stainless steel ones and even then they go bad after like 6months i found.

      At first I was just charging the battery like every other day with a car charger but eventually I ran a line to my car battery that would charge it when I drove down the road.

    This is, IMO, the best explained video on how to set up a soft wash system. I’m just trying to figure out how to build something decent so I can get out there with confidence. I’m planning on building a starter trailer with plenty of room to grow as I gain experience. Thanks for this! 🙏🏽 God bless.

    • @pressurewashingguides3178

      i found that I went too overkill one my trailer build with my machine. The soft wash is where the money is at and you can build a nice set up for like $600 total including everything

      Most jobs I drive to are like 15 min apart but I never drive full of water it’s too much weight. I usually have like 1/4 in there and only fill if I’m doing a bigger job when I get there

    How do you use the proportioner when using oxalic acid degreaser or any of the oxidation removals?

    • @pressurewashingguides3178

      I do not I just mix those manually for the job which I don't have a ton of experience using those as much TBH

    Do you get on the roof to clean it or shoot from a ladder?

    • @pressurewashingguides3178
      @pressurewashingguides3178  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So safer method is from the ladder if u got good enough equipment to reach everywhere. I personally would walk 1 story homes just have to be careful and. 99% of insurance companies don’t allow you to walk on roof so don’t fall off

  • @specialservicesequipment393
    @specialservicesequipment393 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    really should use all the same valves, even on your water so you get consistent flow rates. Instead of teflon tape, use RECTORSEAL TRU-BLU sealant, it's vibration resistant unlike teflon or other sealants, just flush the system after assembly to remove any loose sealant.
