    I love this idea! Just spent over 1hr.looking at a ton of snuffle mats & treat puzzles on Amazon yesterday & thought it looked like it might be fun to make one myself,but no idea where to begin. Think I'll see how this goes b4 trying something bigger & more complicated w/minimal sewing experience, lol...

      LOL, great idea to start small with a snuffle toy. This one is super-duper easy to make and will go over with your pup in a BIG way!

    Thanks for the great video! A large crochet hook might be handy to both pull the bundles in and then pull then ends out through the holes.

    I have been buying tie blankets with the fleece at Thrift Stores. For a full size tied blanket I pay like $3 to $4 dollars which I think is a great price! I untie the knots and wash them.

    So great! I have a puzzle dog and he doesn't really care about the empty ball so much so this will be a game changer for my Dobes and my Beagle/JRT mix. They'll each need their own ball am sure.

      I bet they'll both love it! This particular design has been a favorite for my Basset and Doxie.

    Have you tried to use a large crochet hook to pull the strips out?

  • @Cathy-wz7cr
    @Cathy-wz7cr ปีที่แล้ว

    When you make this ball girls do you keep the strip's doubled or do you single them? I can't tell
    Thanks Cathy from down under

      Hi, Cathy,
      Basically, the goal is to have one fleece strip for every hole in the toy.... but it's totally up to you. If you use a larger Holee-Roller ball toy, you may need to use two strips for each hole. Or if you'd like you can skip a few holes so that they don't have fleece rolled up in them. Hope this helps!

    Hi! Love your channel! Are these washable?

      Thank you! Yes, shake out any remaining treats and they can be washed then just allow them to air dry.

    Could you use knit fabric for this?

    • @HoundHuggerDIY
      @HoundHuggerDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The important thing is that the fabric doesn't fray so knit might work, you could also try sweatshirt material.

    What size ball do you use

    • @HoundHuggerDIY
      @HoundHuggerDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use either the medium or large Hol-ee Roller balls. Here is a link to the step-by-step instructions if that's helpful houndhuggerdiy.com/snuffle-star

    Where do you get your fleece from?

    • @HoundHuggerDIY
      @HoundHuggerDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Wal Mart or Hobby Lobby is where we got our fleece but you could go to a local fabric store or order from amazon. Here are our step-by-step instructions with links to the materials wehearthounds.com/snuffle-star
      If you give it a try we would love to hear how it turns out!

      If you have an IKEA near you, they have a fleece blanket that costs about 2 bucks. It's grey so very boring, but cheap and might be easier to find. (found the name: Vitmossa)

    Hi, I am a fan. I hope it is fine with you. I need to just take a few seconds of this clip for my video promoting the use of this dog toy for our dogs' health. I will give credits at the end of the video.
