    this one is veeeeery cute. actually might be practical in the modern world too, cause purses and tote bags for my non-historically-obsessed friends rarely have pouches/pockets like these for knick-knacks

    Very nice, 3 days is good, lovely stitching.
    I'm one that has too many started and is hard to finish. Starting to hold the idea so as not to lose. Then overwhelmed with too many. I love these little projects that can be finished in a day.
    And fun play

    Of course, it turned out great!

    I have already finished the handmade gifts for this christmas (wheat pillows with a cozy flannel cover) but this is a great idea for gifts in the future. My smallest scraps usually get turned into pillow stuffing or cat toys, and you can only make so many before your couch and your cats have both had enough. 😅

    Happy Solstice to everyone. 💙 I celebrated with a small picnic at a national park near me and with some hot cocoa. Looking forward to longer days!
    This looks like another good scrap busting idea I'll need to keep in mind (I'm also thinking of making puff quilts and braided baskets). I haven't been sewing for very long but it's amazing how quickly the remnant pile rises from projects.

    I was recently given a huge box of fabric scraps - all of them very odd shapes and most in very small sizes (less than 20cm on each side, some as small as 5cm!) but all in beautiful condition and such a fantastic array of colors and prints. I've been carefully sorting them and organizing them by color, wondering what on earth to do with them all, especially the tiny bits. Thank you for such a lovely idea!

    Did you purchase the linen binding, or did you make it from cutting strips of linen on the bias? It is so much more attractive than commercial binding. ❤

    • @KristineVike
      @KristineVike  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      For this project it was herringbone woven linen tape. A bit narrow to work with perhaps, but very pretty.
      I make scrap binding on occasion too. But it depends whether I have the time. :)

    I think I may try machine crazy quilting. I have some ideas how to make it work plus my machine has some lovely decorative stitches to go over the seams with that I have never had a reason to use. Might do it by hand one day too but I have a paper piecing project going already.

    Ah yes I see the new project bag has been confiscated as a cat bed. As is always the way ^^. Have they discovered they could climb IN it yet?
    I love your patchwork, and paper piecing, and sewing.. frankly all your projects! I’d love to do some crazy quilting but I’m always too sacred to cut into my fabrics for projects so most of the scraps I have are plain muslin from mock ups… maybe I’ll make a patchwork embroidered plushie for the little one in my family and give them some fabric markers that erase in water so he can draw on it. I would have to check with his mom first to make sure it wouldn’t devolve into permanent markers being used on the furniture or the like.
    Anyways have a happy holiday and happy new year to you, the spouse, and the fluffy voids. Hopefully you get your bag back some day ^^

    Do love some crazy patchwork, but I have stopped saving every scrap of fabric I have because I was just becoming overwhelmed by scraps of fabric, yarn, paper, jars, cardboard etc, I just can't do it anymore.
