I am a 40-year-old homeowner and would love to see some bad ass skateboarders use my stoop this way! This video is amazing, really great skating and the cameraman has balls of steel! Excellent job, I just hope y'all got the bag back.
JoeAllenMusic RonanSkates 247 thanks! I just have the benefit of being a half assed skateboarder when I was younger and my daughter skates. I just can't imagine not appreciating what these guys are doing its dangerous beautiful and it gives the finger to the mental and physical limitations most people possess.
If you've never been to San Francisco then you wouldn't understand how gnarly the hills are. They're steep as fuck, seemingly never-ending, at certain times of day super slick from being covered with dew (fog), cars popping out from everywhere, etc. One of the funnest experiences every skateboarder should have at least once is skating in this city!
Especially when you consider that the filmers are probably on some soft 80a wheels and can't power slide (or really do anything) to check their speed. Plus they have to actually film accurately.
Utterly, utterly fearless hill bombing with the frontside and, more astonishingly, backside "wheel slide" braking (and no "foot braking" in sight). And also a homage to Tommy Guerrero's part in the (second?) Bones Brigade video, too, maybe? I had my first skateboard in 1977. And this film made my heart leap in the same way as when my dad handed it over to me. Skateboarding just gets better and better.
This rocks! I grew up on my board bombing hills in SF back in the late 70's and early 80's, this brings back a ton of memories. I still ride today at 52 and even took a pretty decent spill last year.. oops, don't care to do that again ;-)
the line that starts at 8:11 is in Daly City, I used to drive down that hill every morning to head to downtown S.F. - video doesn't do it justice. so steep. so crazy. these guys have so much skill and board control.
ok, strong words here, but this is up there with the old stereo vids and the forties dlx vid from the mid nineties. jesus christ, thank you gx... done it again .
It's videos like this that I always come back to remember the fun of skating... I have to confess, I'm high and drunk as fuck right now, after having a great night skating brand new setup adequate to the crusty town I'm in, bombed some hills.... this video makes me appreciate that I have like 10 years or so until I'm 40 and can't afford to do this anymore. Better do it again tomorrow. Shit keeps me alive and sane.
not even joking, day this came out I was so determined to hill bomb. looked fun asf and I new I would love going fast. 3 months later I was bombing hills with no fear. god damn I need to go to sf now. just rewatching this video now.
I rode death wobble on Geary Blvd from 32nd Ave all the way down to 27th. Thought I was going to biff it. Thankfully my bearings were beat up or I'd have been going even faster. Burliest ride I ever had in over 25 years of skating. Never again.
Do you guys think skating styles differentiates city to city? I feel there are skaters who have NOTHING but cracked sidewalks and fucked up conditions yet they seem to be at the top.
cris lamont Aaron Herrington, Cyrus Bennett, Ishod Wair, Max Palmer, Dick Rizzo, Jahmal Williams, Ricky Oyola, Josh Wilson, Kevin Tierney, Dustin Eggeling, Danny Renaud, Nick Jensen, Pontus Alv, Shawn Powers, Jordan Trahan, Kevin Coakley and various others who hasn't made a considerable amount of their footy in California. Unless you mean big name pros like the Andrew Reynolds, P-Rods, T-Puds, Nyjah and Sheckler.
did he get his stuff back? Every time I leave my bag somewhere I'm paranoid somebody is gonna take it, if I'm in a place with a lot of people I'll keep it on my back.

You wish you could still do it :) We have a neighborhood in my development that won't allow skateboarders because they say it ruins the roads. BS
Joel Cook High five man! I wish more people appreciated skateboarding like you do
Not sure if I should be more impressed by the skating or the filming. What a magical video.
Helmet
Josh Katz look at those helmets tho
That's what's I'm sayin I give mad props to the filmer
Helmet
Josh Katz Exactly what I was thinking. Love your vids bro
I fucking love gx1000
Fuck yeah
Yeah, these are the best! I like it when they don't put any tunes, just the sound of shredding!
SF = Where almost every trick ends with a hill bomb. Sick.
Still the same after 7 years
Who looked at the land where San fran is and said yeah here's a good place for a city
***** rekt
Yee
Gold prospectors?

Your talking about America a country that thought it would be a good ideal to build a casino city in a fucking desert.

The pinnacle of skating. Creativity, speed, technical skill, and guts, all at once.
Naw Watch Yuto Aurelian and other dudes who shred
Yo the skating is wild in this but sf filmers are gnarly as hell
Especially when you consider that the filmers are probably on some soft 80a wheels and can't power slide (or really do anything) to check their speed. Plus they have to actually film accurately.
Reminded me of the SF Hills level in Thrasher Skate & Destroy. Sweet memories.
PRO TIP: don't leave your bag at the start of a line...lol.
GX1000: gnarliest filmer in skateboarding! So raw!
Utterly, utterly fearless hill bombing with the frontside and, more astonishingly, backside "wheel slide" braking (and no "foot braking" in sight).

much love to the SF boys - with this corona virus times r tough
I watch this once a week since it was uploaded
Ten minutes of lethal anxiety just from watching says it all..
The filmers deserve so much respect, my god!
These damn videos always give me anxiety
I was so scared that one guy with the nikes would bust when he did that long bs power slide. I was also scared they were so close to hitting the cars.
Fa reely
Braden Smith Damn straight... Professional Hill bombers!!!
If it gives us anxiety just watching it, imagine what it's like for the filmer! Crazy stuff
_Daze_ That's all I think about :D
Just got back from a 4 day trip to San Francisco. Hell of a good time.
Who knew that Sinatra and SF Hill Bombin' would be so Zen....
Every time I see someone bomb a hill I think about how badly it must suck to walk back up.
Colin Thomas Especially he guy who lost his hat as he was bombing down
Colin Thomas you should try it sometime the walks not that bad
Colin Thomas dude if u live in SF ur gonna have to walk up hills theres no escape
Colin Thomas up-hill car skitches must be a thing out there
***** My god, I don't think Skate would be life without car skitches in SF

Robert Hjelte fuck it, there was a bomb inside!

I hope to bomb an SF hill about as much as a 10 year old kid hopes to get sponsored
ok, strong words here, but this is up there with the old stereo vids and the forties dlx vid from the mid nineties. jesus christ, thank you gx... done it again .

Came back to see this video 4 years later and found my own drunk comment that I didn'r remember about haha
Damn! I miss S.F. - I've already watched this over 10 times, such a sick edit.

GX1000 continues to be fucking fantastic. Best series on the channel. Keep up the great videos.
SF skateboarders must get through a lot of wheels.

Bombing hills and filming without power sliding to slow down. Straight skill!!!
The filming is beautiful
I love that carving sound
I miss Cali so much...SF's Outer Sunset District, here I come!
4:11 how did you skate through that
the filmer probably has a board with huge soft wheels
6:01 is the best and most satisfying tre ever

Finally this came out. Not sure if you guys know this..., but the ending was the starter for the two in Better Call Saul.
This video always gets me so hyped to skate 🔥
i was not ready for this. amazing.
filming at 8:11 was insane!!!

Throw a chance with your feet
When your dualing with the heat
The bones show through the meat
Where the heart
is out to eat!
I just want know if he got his bag
Homage to Tommy Guerrero! Him and the Gonz... Two chaps that sent skateboarding into an art form.
SF my heart is with you
2:56 that was the nastiest step hop ever!
2:48 this wallride is perfection
Gx1000 should come to Ithaca NY and skate Cornell. There are many spots here too gnar for the locals.
Anything-to-hill-bomb is my favorite trick to watch. This video is superlative.
Honestly I don't give a fuck if skateboarders skated my property shit I'd be fucking up and skating my own property too 🤘🏼🔥
ahah xD
Amazing soundtrack
Damn I bomb big hills skating to work and school but holy shit these hills make me nervous just watching these guys!

Do you guys think skating styles differentiates city to city? I feel there are skaters who have NOTHING but cracked sidewalks and fucked up conditions yet they seem to be at the top.

One of the best things ever. You guys are gnarly as fuck! Bomb hills forever!
Tony Manfre has plaid pants that would've matched that couch perfectly
did he get his stuff back? Every time I leave my bag somewhere I'm paranoid somebody is gonna take it, if I'm in a place with a lot of people I'll keep it on my back.
