One of the other videos of V in her office has her DIY rings painting on the wall where she looks like she has large horns. Can’t unsee that either and I love it ❤
I definitely think donating washed old blankets too an animal shelter is a fabulous idea. In addition to this, did anyone notice how Valentina and Jack were wearing alternative top and bottom clothing? It was very well planned for the video.👏
Yes, though grey is not a good color for her to wear in terms of being flattering. I think we all struggle with buying colors we like, or are in fashion, but which don’t show us at our best.
😂 Valentina and Jack you give us the best home decor advice while making us laugh and look fabulous all at once. You two are the best. The moth ball joke towards the end😂
Sitting here with a Barefoot Dreams blanket on the back of the sofa that the cat just loves and makes her “biscuits” on! It’s a mess but the cat won’t give it up🙀
I love that it's the cat's fault they can't give it up - but I hear ya I have 6 cats (I know) and their stuff if everywhere but they Need it lol.@@27Spiritgirl
Jack needs his own channel! 😂 I have one of those blankets, it was the comforter on my bed in college, recently it's been used to cover the seats in my vehicle when I take the dog to the vet. lol. I live in a 1908 farmhouse and I completely agree about all the old stuff. I love our house and I love antiques but too many of them makes your house feel like a museum instead of like a home.
When will you come up with a coffee table book filled with pictures of your house throughout the different seasons, holiday decor, hosting tips, favourite recipes and how to mix high and low etc? I would preorder it 😍
Oh man. Such a good reminder to watch over the condition of the sheets. I just checked my guest sheets and saw stains. I was mortified. Gross! Time for new sheets!
I think lighting can make a house look dated and frumpy - the fixtures and types of bulbs. New lighting makes such a difference. I also think dingy towels, like hand towels in a first floor bathroom or even your own bath towels that only your family sees, can make a home seem frumpy. It's hard to keep everything up to date, but freshening up a few things each season makes a difference.
Would totally like to see Frumpy Part 2. There are other frumpy things I can think of … like collections of porcelain figurines, overly Country Style anything, Traditional furniture and Decor, Artwork Aunt So and So painted. Old light fixtures. Also just basically a lack of drama in a room.
Minimal Mid century modern is my decor style. This is the part that hurts!! I have a good friend who will not invite us to her home due to it is not to the décor level of my home. I have a family member who struggles with walking into our home based on the style and care I put into my home. 😳 We love to host many get togethers with friends and family. I love to cook and my husband enjoys smoking meat and side dishes. Wishing individuals would see our heart and desire for a healthy relationship with people we love. The blessing… we have a small group of safe healthy friends. Very few family.
Not offended. I agree with you. It's a delight to go into a home that's fresh and beautiful. Friends can't believe how much I change things a paint. The word fresh is important!
When I was a kid in the 80's, my parents had a brown, satiny comforter on their king-sized waterbed (lol). My younger siblings and I referred to it as the "silky covers" and refused for years to let my parents get rid of it...even after it developed giant holes from repeated washings. It finally had to be thrown away after our cat climbed into it through one of the holes, got stuck, and we had to cut it up to get her out! 😄😄😄
😂 Haven't laughed that much in a while!!! Those bed making cartoons!!!! And LOVE Jack's running commentary (moth balls, recliners and Natiform)- fantastic! BTW, wasn't offended by any of it because I totally agree with Valentina on every point!! Xoxo from Canada!
O K. Now you've come into territory more familiar. I picked up on everything that was pertinent to me. Everything, and probably more. Thanks for the great show.
Valentina and Jack, you two are the best! Valentina and Jack, you are spot on about the examples what makes your home frumpy. I’m still laughing about the moth ball joke. So funny and tasteful humor! He’s funny!
LOL! I could hear you both giggling with me when the ex took the 4 recliners! I’m still in shock how much painting the lounge has left it with a magical atmosphere when I put new curtains up high. Nothing is going back in here that’s not making me smile. Cas from Clutterbug explains the 4 ways people organise. It’s life changing and makes you understand how the family likes to organise too. Rattling sash windows and doors make my home frumpy. Oh the decades long challenge of trying to put the pulled thread back in the blanket is one I’ll never win. Love the mothballs, Kermit and Luke Skywalker… ❤
The kitchen was a monotonous frump of paint that was the color of masking tape, with chips on the edges and stains throughout. I just finished painting the lower cabinets Behr’s Carbon black in high gloss, with a few other spots to match. It’s still got the masking tape color, but it looks so much better now! I found the original color and I’m going to touch up the other color to get rid of the stains and chips that weren’t covered by the black. And I rent! But - NO FRUMPS GIVEN!
I also have masking tape coloured subway tiles and benches. Just painted the main area and kitchen walls white and it’s made the yellow more subtle and the orange timber floors next to the faded dusty pink carpet are almost tolerable. Been wondering what colour to paint the orangey oak cupboards. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤
You gotta live! And to Fiona, if you can change the orangey timber floors or pink carpet then the best colours for cabinetry should have a subtle green undertone it will help neutralize the orangey tones. White will reflect whatever colour is around. I hope that helps. IE. Pashmina by Benjamin Moore, something in that hue. 😊
Jack 😂😂 love you man. Ive definitely got some frump but I haven't been able to decorate the house yet and buy the furniture I want, I'll be frump free one day, only then will I be able to truly relax 😌 x
I recently found you on TH-cam. I love your style and your home. I recently purchased a new home and for once I feel very confident about how to decorate it. Thanks to you!!!!
Good tips here - could you be more specific about the comment "beige on beige? How is that different than white on white on white? My first 3 custom built homes were painted in white and I'm not a cool tone person. I switched to beige with contrasting accents and it feels warm and cozy to me.
I am exactly the same about the bed. It cannot have a wrinkle in it. The bed linen has to be changed regularly and I couldn’t get into an unmade bed. I think sometimes if you’ve been in your home a long while you don’t notice it needs updating. Moving is a great time to get rid of stuff and buy new. Buying new cushion covers and throws can change up a room but themed rooms are a no-no for me. Never owned a mothball in my life!
Oh, you guys look so gorgeous! Valentina with that sleek hair, I love it, and Jack handsome as ever. Not to forget your lovely livingroom. Everything so nice! Greetings from Düsseldorf/Germany 👋😊
The frumpy show was fun! However, I would really like to see more actual decorating videos and room transformations. Maybe help some deserving person change their house, that would be amazing!
This was a fun episode! I laughed so hard when Valentina and Jack kept giving examples like the starwars blanket, the recliner, and the mothballs. Enjoyed it so much!
Can you make a video on a house that displays beige on beige .....I may have that issue in my house....and suggestions for current colors to use that are neutral.
My boyfriend has a gorgeous home that’s beautifully decorated with quality everything. But omg, the master bedroom bed is a worn out spring mattress with an equally matched box spring. His sheets are very high quality, too, but the down comforter has lost all the loft and it’s gathered in the corners of the baffles. I have a high quality bed and I’m picky! I’ve hinted and asked and pointed out, and he seriously can’t see the issues. I’m frustrated and don’t know what to do except never spend the night there. Valentina, the moth balls went right over your head. So cute! 😂
We bought this beautiful house. Now we have to decorate. I’ve been watching your shows and have gotten many great ideas from them. But yes, we brought with us that frumpy reclining chair with the tombstone throw that is my husbands favorite seat. That will remain for the time being , but it is surrounded with great couches and a nice throw inspired by you. I have a stair case almost like yours and I will be painting the under part with cracked pepper. Everyone who enters, love all the nice decor. But there that chair sits….heh!.
I came to your video after looking at English country houses that break a ton of these rules. There is a way to be frumpy that is charming, but it needs intentionality and a good curatorial eye.
Jack is so funny - a delight! As I sit here happily in my house with curated midcentury modern items and Arts and Crafts antiques, I’m laughing at his comments!
Forget the blanket conditions, what about old fashioned furniture?? Thats the first thing that hits me in the head upon entering! Outdated and reminds me of granny's of the past or right out of a funeral home!!
Wow, Great Video!!! Now this was great advice not judgmental. I felt you were just trying to help us see what might be making feel a little down. Loved it!!! Thank you.
I like your video. I give to the homeless shelter for blankets and clothes. I hate broken down old furniture and ripped furniture .I just can't live that way. Thanks for bringing this to people's attention
It’s great to be reminded to look at your home with fresh eyes! We do go house blind! Like that last book of booked that became the entry table because it was there for sooooo long! Moth balls! Good one Jack. I got it!!!!
Haha... Jack. 😂 You see the humor in everything. Like the goodwill joke.😄 Lovely video as always. I really enjoy channel. Thank you Valentina and Jack!!!
Love your videos! I need a new comforter for my primary bedroom. Cannot find anything nice. Not into blue, white or cream. Can you recommend a place????? Thank you. Jan from Peachtree City
He had to have a new recliner in our new house, and I absolutely hate it!!! Even new, I don't like them at all. Do you have any suggestions or alternatives we could get that are more stylish?
No designers that I can find have done a video on the topic of wall texture. I am renovating my dads house and I can’t make a final decision on mud texture. Thanks!
My husband got this recliner in brown. Brown! It looked like a giant poop emoji. It was so comfortable though. After a while, I was over it. I got him a nicer more slick recliner (still don’t love it but marriage is a compromise).
Omg! These two are so funny and entertaining 🤣 they should have a comedy show together. Valentina, I would like to see your fall decoration and x-mas. Thank you for the laughter 😃
I’m just a very neat and clean person. Maybe to clean I have a very hard time going to a well rated hotel and taking a shower I just can’t without flip-flops on call me strange but I don’t think they clean well enough! I need help I’m getting a new kitchen with gray cabinets and need to know what color wall look best with the cabinets?
My pots and pans need to be replaced. I want to purchase the pots and pans that you recommend on a past video you put out. Can you provide that info again? I enjoy you and your husband. You two are so cute and funny.
This video is so much fun!! I love it when you and Jack are goofing around together. 😂 His joke about the moth balls and your reaction were golden. 😅 And many good points too.
The Frumpening! Starring IB Broyhill as John Natiform, psycho stalker. Thanks to Jack for slipping in the interior design version of a deeznuts jokes. Yall are so funny!
I will never hear mothballs again without laughing!! My mother had mothballs in with a real fur throw,,,,, it took a year to get the smell out of that piece, it was in the basement hanging by itself for a very long time. We just bought 2 reclining chairs and a reclining couch because there was a sale and my DH loved them,,, I love my recliner I have to say. We did just recently paint most of the upstairs I’m wondering if I can get points added in my favor as I’m old this year, turned 70. 😂 I get such a kick out of your videos, this one was a hoot
When did the seating get changed, to block off the fireplace? 😮🤔 Only a few days ago, seating was in it's usual place, with the coffee table in front of the fireplace ,& seating facing each other across the coffee table.
Ok, is it just me or is it too cute that the white book on the mantel looks like it’s perched on Valentinas head during most of the video ?
I can’t unsee it now😂 what a stable head Valentina has!😊
So poised
Omg! To funny!
One of the other videos of V in her office has her DIY rings painting on the wall where she looks like she has large horns. Can’t unsee that either and I love it ❤
Yes I love it 😂
Not only do you give great advice on design, but you and Jack are hilarious! Love watching you two!
1. Old blankets
2. Old sheets
3. Unorganized counters and drawers
4. Old recliners or furniture
5. Old paint
I definitely think donating washed old blankets too an animal shelter is a fabulous idea.
In addition to this, did anyone notice how Valentina and Jack were wearing alternative top and bottom clothing? It was very well planned for the video.👏
I did! Very nice look
The mothball joke was a slam dunk!!!! Lololol
Sitting here with a Barefoot Dreams blanket on the back of the sofa that the cat just loves and makes her “biscuits” on! It’s a mess but the cat won’t give it up🙀
😂
I love that it's the cat's fault they can't give it up - but I hear ya I have 6 cats (I know) and their stuff if everywhere but they Need it lol.@@27Spiritgirl

Antiques are cool. You can always rotate the collection to keep things fresh, instead of just displaying them all at once.
When will you come up with a coffee table book filled with pictures of your house throughout the different seasons, holiday decor, hosting tips, favourite recipes and how to mix high and low etc? I would preorder it 😍
I’ve been wanting one of those for years too ❤
This video is a fantastic guide on how to keep your home stylish and avoid those frumpy decor mistakes.
Oh man. Such a good reminder to watch over the condition of the sheets. I just checked my guest sheets and saw stains. I was mortified. Gross! Time for new sheets!

The world is made up of many individuals. Praying you can accept beauty is represented in many diff ways.
Minimal Mid century modern is my decor style. This is the part that hurts!! I have a good friend who will not invite us to her home due to it is not to the décor level of my home. Not offended. I agree with you.
It's a delight to go into a home that's fresh and beautiful.
Friends can't believe how much I change things a paint. The word fresh is important!
Totally agree. I’m trying to adjust my budget from chocolate acquisitions to tubs of paint! 😊
When I was a kid in the 80's, my parents had a brown, satiny comforter on their king-sized waterbed (lol). My younger siblings and I referred to it as the "silky covers" and refused for years to let my parents get rid of it...even after it developed giant holes from repeated washings. I could never sleep on a waterbed, I could never get warm even if they had a heater. How about the rainbow comforter from the 80's?
This gave me the push to purchase new bedding!😊
WT frump! Ha ha laughed my way thru this video. A good friend of mine used to say "Many a truth is told in a joke". Many a truth from you two today.

Thanks for the great show.
My bathroom looks like TJ Max had too much fun last night and threw up everywhere. Everything else is somewhat organized.
😅 lol My thoughts too, except it was a thrift store!
Y'all are funny. 😂
🤣 I know the feeling
Oh my, that comment made me laugh. Thank you
Valentina and Jack, you two are the best! Valentina and Jack, you are spot on about the examples what makes your home frumpy. I’m still laughing about the moth ball joke. So funny and tasteful humor! He’s funny!

Ya’ll are hysterical 😂
Thank you for all of the hilarious and handy tips to get the frump outta my house! 🥳
Thank you for your advise, it really makes me think twice before making a purchase which later on I will regret. Have a blessed day.
I honestly don't care what topic you discuss as long as it's the two of you on camera bc you are sooo entertaining :)!!
Jack 😂😂 love you man. Ive definitely got some frump but I haven't been able to decorate the house yet and buy the furniture I want, I'll be frump free one day, only then will I be able to truly relax 😌 x
Yes! It takes time and more importantly money! Nice furniture is expensive.
@nonnieTerri so true!
Painting the walls in my main area has totally changed it and there’s a lot of frump in here. Enjoy your journey. 😊
I have many nice expensive blankets and barefoot dreams too! Mine look and feel great. They're as soft as new even after several washes.
I recently found you on TH-cam. I love your style and your home. I recently purchased a new home and for once I feel very confident about how to decorate it. Thanks to you!!!!

Probly is cozy as can be.
😅 So much fun! Gotta go quickly...there is a frumpy event going on in a bathroom around here!😮😂
(So glad our trash pick up is tomorrow!)
LOL. Oh yeah. We just moved in to a substantially smaller home so my Frump Fest will take awhile. The garage is PACKED. 😭
“You’ll never lose anything if you know where you put it”. Wise words from my organized father in law.
I am exactly the same about the bed. It cannot have a wrinkle in it. The bed linen has to be changed regularly and I couldn’t get into an unmade bed.

Never owned a mothball in my life!
Frump no more! This is my solemn vow! Made this promise to myself back in 2020 and kept it!
Awesome! You deserve a beautiful home that expresses your personality and makes you thrive ❤
I watched this on my break and told co workers about it. They laughed and laughed! What the frump is gold!
Love Love Love this video!! I will be getting some bathroom organizers today! 😊 And...YESSSS!!! Making up the bed daily makes such a huge difference!
😊 thank you I need to stop letting my apartment keep dragging me down 💙

Yes, can’t wait to paint my similar staircase too. Have fun changing it up. 😊
I can’t believe you told the moth ball joke. My husband told me that one years ago. 😂
I came to your video after looking at English country houses that break a ton of these rules. There is a way to be frumpy that is charming, but it needs intentionality and a good curatorial eye.
Btw...looking forward to see your X-mas preparations! Thou I still enjoy your videos from last years prep. ☃️
Absolutely Agree with you Valentina and Jack!
I want Jack to have that blanket from several weeks ago.
You two are so funny together! Nothing you say is ever offensive. Loved the video.
Great advice but i love a more old money Ralph Lauren decor and that calls for some worn pieces, but the bedding, clutter and moth balls are spot on
It’s great to be reminded to look at your home with fresh eyes! We do go house blind! Like that last book of booked that became the entry table because it was there for sooooo long! Moth balls! Good one Jack. I got it!!!!
That was an absolutely fantastic video!
I had to give up my recliner because it was impacting my vertigo and arthritis . Thank goodness for a good old fashioned wingback with a straight back
Bedraggled is a word I’m definitely adding into my standard vocabulary…. Certainly not about my home to clarify
I’m on the same page with all these frump decor mistakes 🤪 I hate seeing that at my in laws house , and at my moms 😅
Well that was too much fun! Thanks. Going to cuddle in my frumpy blanket (snowed today) and think about what you advised!
Omg, what the frump??🤣 my new favorite term!!😂
I so wish I could buy a recliner that looks modern they all look so frumpy even when they are new.
Haha...
Do you have any suggestions or alternatives we could get that are more stylish?
haven’t watched in over a year and I’m happy to see Jack back!
Always inspirational! Hysterical, loved it, your mothball discussion is classic Valentina and Jack!!!
I love you guys! You’re so funny & honest!
No designers that I can find have done a video on the topic of wall texture. I am renovating my dads house and I can’t make a final decision on mud texture. Thanks!
Love your video, it's very funny. You also need to do a frumpy video for your fashion station. Be sure to include Jack to keep us laughing.
Jack looks like he just came out of a wind tunnel, haha just a quick giggle.Love your taste Valentina
You two work so well with each other. Love your videos.
Valentina I’m in love with the blanket behind you! Pls put in a link 😅 thank you beautiful!
Omggg. My husband has been wanting a lazy boy recliner. I can’t do it.I told him it’s positive energy if we don’t have it. lol.
This was so much fun 😂 I love how y’all give us the information and scolding but it’s so light hearted ❤❤
I think you forgot to put the links. Could you please put them? 😊
Valentina I love you new haircut!!!! You look so good!!
I'm not seeing the links, and I need the organizers. Thanks!
I have nice Pottery Barn blankets on the sofa, but for sleeping I LOVE a barefoot dreams blanket to wrap up with!
It’s so good to see you both together ❤ thanks for this video.
I love your hair!
Hi, i understand even old shoes can make you look frumpy but they are often more comfy to walk than a new pair
first! also, not the point but I love your hair like this. Defs not frumpy.
The Frumpening! Starring IB Broyhill as John Natiform, psycho stalker.
Thanks to Jack for slipping in the interior design version of a deeznuts jokes. Yall are so funny!
Love it .. if your blanket can double as a parachute...he is soooo funny.
When did the seating get changed, to block off the fireplace? 😮🤔
Only a few days ago, seating was in it's usual place, with the coffee table in front of the fireplace ,& seating facing each other across the coffee table.
Omg you guys 😂❤ Do you guys tag team your design business or does Jack work somewhere else for a living? Honestly, you should do a comedy tour! 😅
Jack was hysterical. Agree with your assessments.
You two are just so funny.Regards from Denmark
I keep The Frump out of my Afro-Bohemian home!❤
The word FRUMPY just made me laugh the whole time … just throw the whole word away 🤣
Love all your tips and you and your husband together are amazing. Regards from Scotland 🎉
Can someone please tell me the color of this fireplace. It's amazing. New to the channel love the content!
How often do you suggest refreshing the paint on your walls in your home?
