    My dad’s 1962 Canadian full size Pontiac had a Chevy 261 inline 6 in it.
    Back then, GM put Pontiac trim on Chevy bodies and chassis in Canada and the Pontiacs got the 261 as the base engine instead of the 235.

    • @dale116dot7
      @dale116dot7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pontiacs could come with the 283, 327, all the way up to the dual quad 409. My dad had a 1964 with the 283 and Powerglide.

    That is a beautiful body color...usually don't like greens but that's a winner. Back in 1964, my mom had a 1956 Chevrolet 150 straight-6 that had a higher top end on the highway than my uncle's V-8 Mercury Comet. We were driving behind her in the Comet and my uncle had to floor it and it still couldn't catch up.

    I have a 73 GMC 3/4 with the 292, which was the replacement for the 261, with headers, dual carbs, and dual exhausts.

    An absolute gem of a car. Love the growel of a well fed six with twin pipes. Sweet ride and I'm a mopar slant 6 guy. love the pre 55 GM shapes.

    Nice car. I like the sleeper look of the car. My car is no sleeper. With a 454, Super T-10 four speed and 3" exhaust in my '50, I can't sneak up on anybody. LOL

    Very nice. I've always liked the 55 but this very cool.

    Actually this car came with a 235 and not a 216 as he stated. The Power Glide lettering on the trunk denotes that it came with an automatic. All of those were 235’s and not 216’s! I’m not a Retro Mod fan but this one is done right and is exceptional!

      As a high school kid my first Chev was a '51... It had a 216 which had a dip-type of oil system... My second Chev was a '54 with a 235, the big difference being a fully pressurized oil system... Both manual shift... I'm not sure about the 235 in a Power Glide '52 but I do remember there was some kind of power difference between the manual and Power Glide models...

    Ese es un gran vehiculo, su combinacion de colores, su presencia es majestuosa, su potencia se siente en la piel dotado de 2 carburadores. Yo tuve el honor de tener un Bel Air '53, su motor 6 cil en linea, paseando y disfrutando por las carreteras de Mexico! Un saludo a ud. Y a su hijo. En este vehiculo es una adaptacion los 2 carburadores y el volante de posiciones?

    What's wrong with the Jimmy 292cu", b& S'd to 302cu"? Get a 456 rear, tremec 5/6-spd, injection that LOOKS like carbs, split manifold to duals,--take-down someone's stock 302V-8 '67 "Z"

    Changing from 216 to 235, you had to move radiater to the front side of brackets. 235 was longer than a 216

    • @holykingfish
      @holykingfish ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true. 235 is a drop in replacement. Newer 235’s have the water pump in a slightly different position, but that is about it.

    • @johnnygross4415
      @johnnygross4415 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@holykingfish when I changed mine over, you had to move rad. To the front of the support so water pump would fit. Been in 1973, but still remember. I also owned 3, 1954 corvettes, 6 cylinder 235 with tri power

    • @holykingfish
      @holykingfish ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fair enough. You had a newer 235 with the lower mounted water pump. There are ways around dealing with the water pump without moving the rad, but it doesn’t matter. My point is that the engines are the same size. Cool that you’ve been enjoying these cars for so long. Happy motoring.
