- Barangay Ermita is one of the most densely populated and impoverished areas in Cebu City, Philippines. In this video, I walk through the narrow street of this slum community, where thousands of people live in makeshift houses, often without access to basic services such as water, electricity, sanitation and health care.
DISCLAIMER: This video is not meant to exploit or sensationalize their situation, but to raise awareness and empathy for the people who live in these conditions.

I wanted to address the misconceptions surrounding its reputation. While it's true that Barangay Ermita has had a bad reputation in the past, I personally felt safe during my walking tour of the area.😊
Sana mkabalik po kayo ulit dito para makita mo yung changes sa lugar na hindi pa natapos Nung pgpunta mo dito
Kung dati yung sinasabi Nila na maraming bad reputation dito sa ngayon po unti - unti na po Siyang my pgbabago ... Kahit ako dati pgdating ko sa lugar nato sobrang takot at nabahala ako sa sarili ko pero hindi nman pala lahat ng tao eh masama... my mga tao lng talaga na my attitude at kulang sa respito pero hindi po talaga lahat.. kahit saang lugar nman po cguro pg ganitong area talagang hindi nman talaga siya perfect... Thank you po sa pg bisita Sana po my matulungan din po kayong mga mahirap na pamilya... God bless and keep safe sa lahat ng trip at mga tours ninyo po sa ibat ibang lugar... 🥰

@ 9:30 Too bad their basketball court didn't get finished, kids could have really enjoyed playing there. There was this guy back then I remember his last name, Cabalda, and I think he was from this area. Regular Filipino height and build but man was he good at basketball. All aspect of the game. He played with a Pasil team and they played in barangay invitationals all over Cebu. There could be other greats from this area again if and when they finish this court. Personally, I've never explored this particular area. Exploring with you is good enough for me, thank you.

While every place has its own unique safety considerations, both Barangay Pasil and Barangay Ermita in Cebu can be safe for tourists as long as they exercise general precautions and stay aware of their surroundings. The locals in these barangays are friendly and welcoming to tourists.

drug crime prostitution so i guess not my place of choice for retirement, yes it is a mix of poor and some new.
I always based my retirement on the traditional pillars of crime, drugs and prostitution. It's how I made my money, it'll be how I spend it as well.
