I've been playing this game since early Beta & the game has really gone a long way. It's nice to see the game from a fresh player's POV and watch as you guys learn & explore the game together ^_^ I'll leave below some tips if I notice anything while watching.
@@Ann-and-Arlo Below are some tips from me 😊: - You don't have to keep every version of the workbenches (ie. wood/copper/iron). Ex: When open iron workbench UI -> green up&down arrows allow you to switch to the lower tier crafting options. After replacing, you can "salvage" your old workbench to get some of the bars back. - With the latest update: workstations & smelters can now draw from nearby chests. Each chest can provide materials to stations up to 10 blocks away (hor/ver) & 7 blocks (diagonal). So you can be a bit more flexible & not having to place your workstations directly next to the chest with its required materials as we used to do in earlier patches. - 3:30 Number 26/26 on your health bar is your "magic barrier". Which is given by the gears you wear (clothing + accessories). If you played core keeper before the update with magic weapons & armors -> this might be the reason why it surprises you. - 7:00 An enclosed room (no more than 64 tiles) that has a bed inside is already counted as a "valid house". Nearby mobs should have no effect on whether the merchant spawns or not. - 18:00 You get these materials only when the game is in the respective season. ie. when it's christmas the entire corekeeper map will turn into winter theme & only then will the mobs will drop season specific materials that you need to craft stuff from the Seasonal merchant. You can actually force a seasonal event to happen in your world without reaching it in IRL time by: Main game's menu > Settings > Gameplay settings > Override season (last option). - 20:33 Fiber & fiber seeds are most commonly found in the Clay biome. Which is one of the 3 basic biomes (dirt, stone & clay). Further than that you'll have to explore & find yourselves 🤭 Which will eventually answer your question at 1:40 😉 - 22:10 Milk is more like a completed potion that gives +% armor when used so it's not usable in cooking. It's worth noting that armor buff from milk stacks with other food sources of armor. Say cooked food A gives you +10 armor & cooked food B gives you +5. A & B won't stack, eating both & the game will just apply the stronger buff (+10 armor). But Milk's buff will stack as it is a multiplicative %armor increase. - 23:50 What I'd recommend is to save the tin ores you collected mostly for making Tin (crude) drills. You'll need Automation table (in Tin workbench) to craft drills & Electronics table (in Copper workbench) to craft an electric generator. When exploring/traversing the map you'll come across big (2x2) Ore Boulders that is indestructible with your normal Pickaxes. Focus on drilling Tin boulders first so that you'll have an excess amount of Tin for making more drills. Cheapest & most effective way I find is to place 4 drills every boulder. Connect them together using your generator (you don't even need wiring if only 4 drills). This is done because going from 4 -> 8 drill does speed things up but not as much (diminishing returns). With enough drills you can automate ore mining while you do other exploration activities or even go to sleep IRL & leave the game running overnight xD ------- Sorry for the wall of text. I tried my best to avoid spoilers & only focus on QoL tips that will hopefully help you enjoy your Core keeper journey together ^_^ Looking forward to your next episodes
🤩🤩🤩🤩 Woah!! Thank you for all of the tips!! I am super glad to hear we don’t have to keep all the workbenches, then we can move more things closer to pull from the chests, like you mentioned (and less cluttered)! Thank for taking the time to write out such thorough tips!! 🤩
