- I take a look at the rather wonderful 'You Suck At Parking' a game in which you have to figure out your way through various driving challenges to park your car.

That should be standard. Also which form the mtx has - pay for a thing, pay for a random chance to get something, pay for “time savers”, and so on and if possible price range.
Sadly some publishers will not enable the mtx store fronts in the review copies, and hide the prices, on top of that will have different NDAs with different outlets and some will be able to say they are mtx and some other will not be allow to say that.
I’m guessing you can name a game or maybe a few where such practices were used.

I was interested in this game until I saw the 'PARKING PASS'. Talk about a hard pass.
Parking pass? More like: "I'm gonna say "pass" to this game!"
Yeah, I'mma join the chorus: The game looks fun, but microtransactions in this type of paid game just sucks. Especially if it's to activate things the unlock track shows anyway. Feels really "cut from the game and sold to you afterwards".

As soon as you said there was one in mastery you bailed on, I knew it had to be Madhouse. That one took me HOURS.
it looks like for madhouse, if you go to 20:58, you might be able to jump right to the platform with the cones rather than straight ahead like you normally do.

I was rather interested until the microtransactions. All interest went down the toilet then, and I hope the game does poorly because of it
I hope the game developers dies. Everyone who put microtransactions in games should be tortured to death.

The camera and driving model makes me thing of Drive to Survive (known as Mashed in PAL regions).

You should try Trails HD. It's an older game, but I think it would be fun to watch you try it. It' similar to this style game. You have to clear a track in a certain amount of time without crashing (or having less than a set amount on the crazy levels). But it get stupidly hard later on in the game. I played put in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours in the game and there's plenty of them that I haven't beaten. Plus there's a level creator and you can download user created levels as well. I wasn't as much of a fan of the later ones, but it's really good fun and being a perfectionist can make it a bit frustrating.
The graphics in this game reminds me of Borderlands
should have it so for every level you get coins or some sort of currency that you can buy customizations with. and if you complete the level perfect without missing a parking spot you get a bonus! Then for the people who do want to pay, that pass will have items and you can get them "faster" if you care to pay for it. otherwise u can play and grind and use your points to get items for free!
Speedruns of this game will be great to watch

Hmm i guessthe devs like Canadian national railroad too since the boats on that ice level are painted in the CN colors and just like the locomotives
I'm not advocating for microtransactions per se but a point could be made that for us that *don't* care about playing dress-up with our game the microtransactions keeps the game at a lower price for us. There is no doubt in my mind that if the microtransactions weren't there but the content was included from the start the game would cost more. As long as it's not play-to-win I have no beef with microtransactions. I just ignore it.
There is also a point in that when the game is on a subscription service like Gamepass the developer's earning potential is much much less than if sold individually. The microtransactions may mitigate that.

it doesn't affect the game at all by the way.
The magnet drop, you are supposed to jump across and drive around do the next lower level after the 1st cop then jump diagonally to the portal instead of continuing straight towards the glove.
You should give zeepkist a try some day, I think you'd have a lot of fun with it

About the premium parking pass - I suspect you’re in the minority of people that will actually pay for this game. This game is included in Game Pass for Xbox and Windows and I’d suspect the vast majority of players will be playing it that way. They get money from Microsoft for that but not as much as if you’d purchase it so this is a good way for them to supplement that income.
And the premium parking pass is completely cosmetic stuff - you can buy and play this game to death and just not get all the custom trails, toppers, and body styles.
If they're not happy with their cut of the Gamepass money they shouldn't have signed up for it. Telling players who bought it to cough up more money because others got it through a subscription service is unacceptable.
@@Acela2163 what subscription? There’s no subscription. There’s a completely optional season pass that gives you completely optional cosmetic items and will then fund the development of new MP levels and cosmetics.
If you don’t want to buy them then don’t. There’s nothing stoping you from enjoying the game otherwise.

If they think they need microtransaction DLC to earn money from GamePass, the base game shouldnt be 20 Pounds, but should be around 5. Its stupid to both add expensive DLC and make the game cost quite a bit
