    Nice upgrades, but the Trailsport should have a 1” lift. I’m glad they kept the V-6. This is the most practical, comfortable and reliable mid-size truck you can buy. Definitely the truck most people need, if they can put their ego aside.

    • @Trailsporting
      @Trailsporting ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The length of the bed is kind of useless. And the exterior look is very bland. If you're going on light trails, it would be fine, but I would have liked 3 more inches of ground clearance, at least.

      A couple of inches shorter than a F150 Crew Cab. I believe 2in less.
      Lower the rear door and problem solved.

    • @mattamuskeet
      @mattamuskeet ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@TrailsportingI hear ya, but the bed is far from useless. Put the tailgate down and you can easily haul sheet goods or lumber. The low wheel wells creates a flat platform, not to mention the payload is better than some full-size. The swing tailgate allows easy access to the bed and the trunk is more practical than Ram boxes. If you want something for off-road, there are plenty of other options. But logging roads and fire trails is what most people do and this is more than capable. I guess now that I’m older, this pick-up is far more appealing. 20 years ago, I would have never considered it.

    • @Trailsporting
      @Trailsporting ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattamuskeet I think I'm in the not considering it stage because if I'm paying truck money, I want the off-road access to explore deeper, more difficult areas.

      @@mattamuskeet Also, everything you stated is valid, but I'm looking for either a bed I can toss a small mattress into and sleep in, or large enough to fit a tent or tent platform onto. These small 5 foot beds are no good for me.

    Instead of Ridgeline, it should say Honda on the tailgate. I wasn’t a Ridgeline believer until I drove one, it really is so much comfortable than other truck in its segment. If you don’t need the extra capability, it’s a no brainer.

    My wife has a Ridgeline from 2019 with six speed transmission. Pretty good vehicle. Couple recalls with fuel tank and hood latch and rear truck hatch. One night the fan was not going off and we had to disconnect fuse to then replace the next day, otherwise really solid. We have 44.000 miles on it.

Keep in mind it came out in Early 2005 for the 2006 model year. Take a look at other car interiors from that time period, very few compare to the 2006 Ridgeline. Ridgeline is a great truck, I loved mine before I traded it in on a Rivian. It needs a complete refresh though, the new interior updates are needed, but it largely still looks like it is competing with last gen trucks (which looked ancient), where the new Colorado and Canyon are much nicer inside now. The exterior needs to be revamped as well, it just looks old. Mechanically I have no complaints, it drives great and does everything most people need out of a truck and the V6 gets solid mpg's while still not feeling slow.

    Sofyan- with how you know the Ridgeline over the years, what do you think about the Ridgeline as a person's only car, especially when it comes to every day maneuvering and parking in parking lots? Toying with the idea of going away from my 2018 landcruiser and 2006 Tundra and going with a Ridgeline as a single vehicle replacement. I went home in a 2023. Why? I like the old seats and console better. The old models have captain chairs with folding armrests. The new models removed the armrests. The only improvements I could tell in the new model is wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, and new instrument cluster. I could not tell any difference in size for the new infotainment system. You can get wireless charging pad installed by the dealer and you can buy a simple device for less than $100 for wireless CarPlay. While the improvements are indeed nice and definitely needed to keep the Ridgeline interior fresh with the current line up... I'm still a tad disappointed with the lack of any lift and mildly indifferent with them retaining the old J35 VTEC with the ZF 9 speed (It is good but though the new V6 and 10 speed is a NICE combo).
    The big let down for me is the lack of TrailWatch. It is such a good feature to have when making maneuvers on tighter trails if you don't have any spotters. Even at work, I use it on Pilot TrailSports and Elites with fresh window tint to avoid opening the driver's window or door (transmission will shift into park with open door at low speeds) while putting them on my lift for pre-delivery inspections.

      But in case of Ridgeline you could remove spare. The Ridgeline has a optional mounting location in the bed behind the left drivers side.
      If your not carrying a 4th-5th passenger in rear seat could always put it in rear on floor with 60/40 seat folde up.

New hvac contorls would be nice.. and they should add acoustic glass to the front driver and passenger windows. and make the ride clearance more than 8 inches.. then we would have a near perfecr Ridgeline.. oh and at least 20inch deep bed. it currently is too shallow when you a have tonneau cover on.
