Not saying this game doesn’t lag at all (I mean…it’s Nintendo) cause I have had some laggy matches but NOWHERE near this bad. I do hope if you do continue to play this game it’ll start to get better. Maybe a new host might make it a little better

Haven't watched Marcels video and maybe it's the same there, but I believe it's either Brock or both Brock and Marcel.

It's not the game's connection that's the problem. It's either the switch's crappy online connection or one of you're guys connection. Also if someone lags out they can join back or quit the session and resume it up later.
