1x per week is good for most people. The car has 450km+ real world range and the average Singaporean drives 50km per day. In reality, many of us have destination chargers (AC slow chargers) at our offices/malls/homes, so there are a lot of opportunities for regular top ups.
If you want to be fair in comparing prices between atto 3 and mg4, you might want to be consistent with the type of coe package offered. As of 10th august, mg is offering mg4 at 170,888 for guaranteed coe (rebate at 88k). Atto 3 is being offered the same gauranteed coe (rebate at 88k) for 176,888
BYD Singapore’s website is showing SG$168,888 today for guaranteed COE: byd.1826.sg/atto3 MG4 is at SG$167,888 today ($1k cheaper): mg.com.sg/wp-content/uploads/MG-Combined-Pricelist-20240809.pdf
@DarenYoong you're not looking at their respective rebate levels. And discounts are time and criteria sensitive. Byd's site conveniently leaves out such information.
Few cons I noticed after having this car since May : 1. Wiper motor and sweep is rather noisy. 2. Settings like regen level and lane change assist cannot be saved. Need to change back every time the car is turned on. 3. Sloppy build quality with rattles from all over. 4. Mushy brakes which can be dangerous. 5. Very bad reverse/360 camera resolution. It's rather embarrassing when others see this. 6. Stiff suspension compared to BYD Atto 3. Ride can be very harsh over rough roads. However, it does give a nice and sporty driving experience.
@DarenYoong thanks for the reply. However, in my country, the MG4 ev they are selling is FWD and AWD. Where do you think they are getting the FWD? Because every time I look on youtube for a FWD MG4 ev, I am not seeing it.
Yes, the MG ZS is the 1st MG EV! Meant to say that the MG4 is MG's 1st dedicated EV platform vehicle. www.forbes.com/sites/jamesmorris/2022/08/27/mg4-ev-2022-review-game-changing-electric-car-value/
I agree about the 2nd Gen IU unit-the large bezels are reminiscent of outdated early 2000s electronics. High probability this decision (to use this product) was made by individuals in high positions at LTA who may not be tech-savvy. Frankly, this device feels both outdated and poorly designed.
My MG4 was made with no seam sealer in the rear on the vehicle, seriously. Its leaks and stinks and feels like a 20 year old car. MG know they did not make some of the cars with seam sealer but ignored the problem until we all came back complaining our cars stink. I would not recommend an MG4.

If you realised, the ZS is an ICE car turned into EV

$167,000 SGD who affords to buy cars in Singapore?
600,000 people, according to Singapore’s Land Transport Authority

MG cars have poor quality seats. They are like cheap chinese couches with fake leather and no padding that don’t last a year.
