I live in Phoenix and currently attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, meaning I have traveled the I-17 quite a few times. I’ve driven by so many times and even driven the Bloody Basin road with my dad, but I’ve never bothered to stop and visit. Will definitely need to do so sometime. God bless you man!
Nice, way to fly a drone! Way to give er Robert, on the road since 1 am!!! Looked like a fun drive in. Oh man, I thought you were going to jump in....YES you did!!! Cold water in the desert, I can see why that would be such a sacred area. Fun to share moments like that with a friend.
Thats the way we like it. It was great despite being tired. I actually left San Diego at 1am to see another National Monument( Tonto)before meeting up with Randy. I must have talked myself out of it 10 times before I made the turn to head to Tonto. The video for that stop is on my page( as is my Agua Fria video from that day). Im actually been looking to do more 3 day weekend runs like this in the up coming year since this one was so much fun. No excuses..just drive and see them. You forget about being a little tired but end up with a lifetime of great memories.Looking forward to meeting up with Randy again. If hes within a 12 hour or so drive, then im on the road. Its awesome meeting a new friend thru TH-cam with the same passion and knowledge of our national parks. Our 1st meet up was last year here in SD where we both made videos at Cabrillo NM here in California.
Also, checked out your channel and gave it a sub. WoW!!! You guys really get around( like me). Great content. Lots of stuff there for me to do future research. Awesome!
The next time your in Arizona we should meet up, then we can take the jeep to the sheeps bridge in Agua Fria. It's along journey down that road, but worth it. There are so many amazing ruins in Agua Fria also. Really enjoyed the video.
That would be awesome! Heard about that place and would really enjoy getting back. Thanks for the invitation and will keep it in mind if I make it back to AZ. Have a great week!
@@AmericasParks Heading to film and check out the book of the Kells tomorrow. It's a beautiful decorated 9th century manuscript containing the four Gospels of the New Testament written in Latin. It's on display in a museum downtown.
fantastic look at the Monument THanks!! love this remote desert stuff.. too bad you couldnt make it to the pueblos, maybe next time.. water in the desert, love it.. thanks for taking us with you
Appreciate that! AZ and S. UT have become my favorite locations. Also gaining a greater affection/appreciation for the BLM lands and the ample opportunities for exploration with limited people, rules. Take care my friend!
Randy, I really enjoyed this video, some of my favorite elements (looks great on the big screen TV). I was surprised to see the petroglyphs, that is a very interesting find there (then I searched and read articles about them too). Awesome campsite, cool to have it to yourself. Good 4x4 adventure, hopefully NPS adds a visitor center in the future, if not at least a Kiosk with info and trail maps. THANKS FOR TAKING US ON THE HIKE, . . . Mike
Looks at you had a couple scary moments like 1st off when you lost the trail and 2nd Driving on those unmaintained roads. It's always nice to see water in the desert. It's a rare sight. Awesome you were able to use the drone quite a bit in this video. I really like the sunset time lapse at the end. It's good you had a nice little guys trip in the desert.
Sounded like you needed to put that drone up in the air to see! I just got mine the other day! Waiting for a good day to take it outside to try out. It's been bad weather lately, so no luck with it yet. You're pulling a me with that fuzzy selfie video part! Beautiful location!
hahah! The fuzzy look can only be an improvement for me! Enjoy your drone. I get nervous every time I take it up. Also, be aware of the where you are permitted to fly. The restrictions are getting crazy!
@@AmericasParks Yeah, this one has built in restrictions that pop up automatically if you are in an area where you can't fly it. I also see DJI has an interactive map so you can look ahead of time where you can, and where you can't fly. Around me, there are very few places I can't fly - but of course I will be taking it with me everywhere.
Nice weather for October, well, compared to the UK that is and yes, I am used to mud as well lol. That dip looked so refreshing and what a great way to cool off, although, nothing worse than losing the trail and getting that awful sinking feeling, when everything looks the same, although the drone could have been a great help. Nice set up indeed and great morning drone footage, cheers Alan
If you guys kept going south past the Pueblos, it is the most beautiful drive through Bloody Basin. If you go during monsoon, there is nothing like it.
Thanks for the tip - heard some amazing things about this place. Really loved it there. Sure do wish we had some more time to explore this underappreciated monument. Thanks for watching!
We've never stopped at these places...although we go right past them on the way to the high country. Thanks for the preview and now this area can go on the "to do" list! Enjoyed your video and drone footage.
Remote is no joke! Glad the Kia made it! Haha and how cool that you had a friend come see you, incredible he woke up at 1 am! You found some chocolate on the ground! Wow that really is a gem, incredible it’s in the middle of the desert and nothing beats just getting out exploring with a buddy and enjoying the good times. The drone footage to finish it off was great, perfect timing on the sunlight! 🙌🏼
Thanks, love the BLM lands - freedom to camp where you want, no crowds and generous drone privileges. Nature undisturbed. Having such a blast at these places.
Thanks! Crashed the first drone that Baxter gave me. Thankfully I got this one at an incredible price. Amazing shorts, but nervous every time I take it up.
There’s a lot out there if you know where to go. This monument is a BLM managed area so you won’t be getting the NPS nice roads, signs to places to see or amenities. What you do get is opportunities to explore, and camp for free. Btw visitor center is in Black Canyon City and they have the national monument ink stamp if people collect those.
wow. these are some actually real nice replies but i kind of meant this as a reference to the song “big iron” by Marty robbins, which is a joke in the video game community. but i like your honest replies
Such a beautiful part of the country that so few people get to see and experience- glad I wasn't driving on those roads but enjoyed watching your adventure!!
Sucio agua fria! We have to start arranging for better rental cars for you 😂😂😂 Cool camp spot & loved the drone footage! Glad you made it back to camp before dark. And made it out if the monument with the car in one piece.
Yeah, I get pretty cheap when it comes to rental cars. Often I go with the economy size that barely fits my body. The off-roading is another story! lol!

Cant wait to see the blitz of AZ videos you have coming! Sorry about your Bears man....but my Chargers are moving on! Talk to you soon.
