His ice powers are so cool (pardon the pun) in some versions of the comics, his ice is so cold/hard that only he can melt it! Imagine that he could make like, unbreakable ice handcuffs, or stab someone with an ice sword, and then melt it to cause instant blood loss!

Basically Ice Man can exist in solid, liquid and gas form so there is literally no way you can kill him unless you can rewrite the basic laws of physics.
I only know one comic book character that can do that (Mr Mxyzptlk, but he belongs to the wrong comic book franchise; D.C.).

I really like Ice man, he is one of my favorite xmen. Do not really like the Xmen triology portrail of Ice man. Owell, maybe he will be better in Days of future past.
He wasn't there a lot in Days of Future Past. The story mainly focused on Wolverine, Quicksilver, Magneto, Professor X, Beast, Mystique and Trask. When he was there, he was pretty much the same as always. But very good movie.

Ferchu Fernandez Gambit is planned for future X-Men movies. You can expect him in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. Even if he's not there, he'll be in a future movie, portrayed by Channing Tatum.

At least his folks were accepting of their son's abilities. I was touched when his father, William Drake, told him it wasn't his fault at 2:47 after his mother, Madeline Bass, told him about how the news was telling stories about mutants like him. So sweet!

Fun fact: (SPOILER WARNING!!!!!) When the Sentinel killed Iceman in DOFP, that normally wouldn't have killed him in the comics. He has the ability to reform his body into any shape or size, even after it's been completely destroyed.

We shouldn't really look at Hollywood to judge how powerful a character is . Look for example , at Thor . He is seriously downgraded for action and suspense . In Days of Future Past Iceman could've reconstructed and regenerated himself .

They forgot to mention Iceman is a an Omega level mutant, which means he happens to be one of the most powerful mutants in existence. The reason behind this is because since he can freeze the moisture around him he can literally encase everything in ice if he mastered his abilities.

First time I heard of him was a cartoon series in the 80s called "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends". It focused on Spider-Man, Iceman and Firestar.

I really like Shawn Ashmore's portrayal, I would only hope they would give him much much more to do, he's usually used as a love interest or something like that, but that's not really his fault.

There was a storyline in the 90s that was suposed to reveal his homosexuality, but it just didn't get that far.
There's multiple universes in Marvel, Iceman just happens to be gay in one of them, It doesn't really fit him, but it doesn't really matter though :P

This was "cool" to see. Thanks for doing my favorite X-man! But another note of interest that should've been included is that it was discovered that he is one of the few omega level mutants. But he uses (or used to use?) an inhibitor belt to keep his powers in check because they can go beyond his control. The age of apocalypse Iceman had fully released power levels. It was kinda insane what he could do.

You should do a background on Bibbo Bibbowski, a little known character that is Superman's biggest fan. He has an interesting back story that is littered in Superman's comic book adventures. I would love to see a background on him as it is not only the superheros that make the comics great but also the supporting characters that live in the universe

Iceman’s one of my favorite Marvel superheroes along with Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Crystal, and Angelica Jones (Firestar).
The one thing that I will never understand about ice-based meta humans is that they are able to shoot a beam of ice in front of them and can move forward while standing still.
Since I love that element then that means that I love iceman

You failed to mention Iceman's origin as it was explained the early 1980s (or wS it late 1970s?) cartoon: "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends."
In that series, it was explained that Bobby Drake received his powers as a young adult while working at his job as an HVAC/Refrigeration repairman.
That was just a cartoon, thereby noncannon.

First off, I know it’s 4 years later, but cyclop’s “heat beams” aren’t lasers, they’re optic beams that come from a different dimension and his eyes are the portal. And they light things on fire because of the friction they create between objects
