Chen qigang has extraordinary ear, who writes exactly what he hears, not guessing or fillings. This is an extremely difficult piece to perform to any western instrumental players. Jia Lu's reading, learning and conducting is one I have not seen in any orchestras from China. Lu grasps and controls the orchestra masterfully.

Very nice piece! But I think I miss a lot of the sound spatialization effects by listening to a recorded performance, compared to a live experience. I don't know if Mr Chen also had the influence of the Chinese-French composer Xu Yi (徐仪), or ever met her as they both came to France almost at the same time.
    希望有一天能够有机会去听到陈大师的作品!

What chord is that at 7:50 all i can make out is possibly a C# (or Db) in the basses, and possibly a g# (or Ab) going to a D in the violins. Not sure if that's correct.

      Some sort of highly abstracted C#7 chord. I can make out (ascending): C#, A, C, C#, D, (possibly F), G#, B.
