The Craig Anderson standing ovation is probably my favorite all time. It was in an away arena!!! Another one that sticks out to me as devils fan was Tristan jarry diving on to jack hughes in a chaotic situation mid game to protect him because he didn’t want to see a rookie take a puck to the head.
The Winnipeg Jets players are great, tough players but when it comes to helping someone who’s down they’re always there, Granted Schieffle shouldn’t have done that but Ehlers is amazing for what he did in that moment
What gets me even today is that Schieffle still hasn’t seen what was wrong with that hit, I don’t think he’s a dirty player and hockey is a fast sport where your going to make split second decisions, but you would think with a look back at the play you could own up and say maybe that was a bad hit. He never owned up at the hearing and he doubled down with the insurance advertisement. For that reason fuck Scheiffle! Good for the jets player protecting Evans.
This is facts, had a tournament one in Colorado Springs and we’re from Texas, and another team that played in our same division and were our rivals, was also in the same tournament and we both stayed at the same resort that weekend. Absolutely hated each other on the ice but throughout that weekend we would go to the main lodge/dining hall of the resort each night and chill and play pool with them, even played this like massive snowball fight throughout the whole resort (we were all like 12yo) and it was easily my favorite tourney I ever played in

Certain player’s have certain rolls in hockey. Some score goals and others put people in the third row. In the end every single 1 of them hates to see another man injured. This is how they take care of and provide for their families

Another one was Matt Calvert took a puck to the head and I remember Elias Petterson kind of like protected him and Canucks scored soon after and he barely celebrated. Such a class act. It was from 11/16/19 if anyone was curious

Honestly if i was there when horvat got hurt i wouldve jumped on to help him to prevent from further injury this also would stop play and get attention from officials because of to many men on the ice. Hockey is a great sport very physical sometimes shit happens but the best you can do is show that you care after hurting someone that bad

Once upon a time this was not just acceptable but commonplace. It wasnt this time but had Evans prepared for it Id bet he doesnt get destroyed and then I bet theres no discussion on it. Keep your head up and protect yourself.
Have you ever watched a true hockey fight? First, it can get the guys entire team pumped up. They see a guy go out there and drop the gloves FOR A REASON, and he is respected for it. Second, 99.99% of the time that there is a fight, the second a player falls to the ice or can't protect himself, the other guy stops and the linesmen jump in and if he knocks him cold, they are usually the first one's waving to the other players bench to get the trainers out there to take care of them.
