@@SoCalDrone4u You're too kind, SoCal Drone. It does take a while to make these, which is probably why others prefer not to. I had to search and read through hundreds of pages of documents. There's so much more to the story than I am able to include in the video
It's crazy how you fly cinematic drones through those gaps. I can understand someone bridging those gaps with fpv drones because you can pretty much crash those as many times as you want. But with cinematic drones it's usually one and done
Subscribed!! growing up in so cal I've always seen these places on maps and websites but never had the courage to go explore. Your videos make up for that and you give context without some annoying host. Love this channel, looking forward to the next videos
Thank you very much for checking us out. We've had a lot of fun looking into these places. As cool as they look in a video, it's always surreal to see them in person.
IT is amazing the kind of history that is so neglected and degraded by the passage of time. Nature reclaiming its property and where there is decayed canvas so too come the urban artists tagging their visuals everywhere...i liked this a lot a history lesson and an adventure rolled into one grand drone tour...altogether fitting I do believe...
Absolutely stunning drone footage and love how you edited it together. It really felt like we were exploring the place. And I knew nothing about this at all so all of the facts were fascinating - great video!
I wish someday I could afford a drone that kind, it's performing soooo nicely ! Btw I liked that you took time to show every extract, music is really appropriate too
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm sure you'll be able to get one of these drones soon. They're becoming cheaper every day, especially if you buy used.
This is CRAZY. Entertaining and VERY educational. This is awesome and more people should be watching this! Thanks for sharing! Just subscribed to continue supporting you
Very interesting history of the company and its role in the Cold War. The people camping there must have freaked out seeing your drone 😆. Great video, well done!
Thanks for watching. I actually explored that building on foot first and met the campers. They were a very nice couple. I told them we would be flying the drones around and through the building
Whoa, I've been so intrigued by drone footage, especially how they allow you to not only capture such pristine footage but at angles that give it such a more powerful emotional response. When I see Cold War I instantly rhink Russia, or the artist formerly known as. I was almost assuming the Lockheed facilities to be in some cold, dank dilapidated Russian territory, go figure. But the dry open environment is much more inviting. It just looks so unassuming the insides just seem like an old abandoned warehouse or something. I was wondering about the thick walls and thin roof. I guess they were more concerned about protecting assets than lives it seems. Mind blowing.
You can definitely also find places like this in the former Soviet Union; abandoned bases, missile silos & magazines, deserted weapons factories. Thank you for your comment
Luckily this place is nowhere near my backyard. They used to burn fuel from defective rockets in dirt pits. The toxic oxidizer, ammonium perchlorate, seeped into the ground. Lockheed is getting sued to clean the place up
This was a very fun one to learn about. So much history at this place. They used to build the 3rd stage of the vanguard rockets. The Vanguard 1 satellite and the 3rd stage motor that took it up there are still in orbit. Projected to stay in orbit for at least 200 more years. Meanwhile all the other satellites from that era (sputnik 1, sputnik 2, explorer 1) have all fallen back to Earth long ago
great piloting i wouldnt have the same confidence as you to get through those small spaces, great work. we have similar interests check out my stuff too if you get a chance.
Drones and abandoned exploration are two of my favorite things. Also really dug the history explanation and stock footage you used. Really well done!
Thank you very much for your comment. We've really enjoyed exploring abandoned places as of late. We usually have at least 3 drones on site
Another awesome video bro. I'm learning a lot just by watching your content

Yeah, we're very careful. Been fortunate so far. Zero accidents in our thousands of flights

This video is awesome. The camera work with the music and text. Really kept me watching the whole time.

historical place! I wonder why Americans cannot let the buildings without any graffiti hahaha
Yeah, it sucks. I would love to visit an abandoned place without graffiti all over it, but it's rare to find that in CA
So much history in our backyards o_o

@@TruDroneVideos Well sure they didn't. They didn't orbit as high and were hitting atmospheric drag. Always a wonderful thing is learning my friend.
I remember Vanguard being a big disappointment, exploding on the launch pad on live TV. And that was AFTER sputnik had already been launched
If they had just gone with Wernher von Braun's rocket from the beginning, things would have gone differently
👏👏👏🤘😘
