    Would love to see how you made the 3 glass wool panels for $75. Or if you have another video to refer me to.

      I don't really have the film equipment to make that video yet. I modeled mine after this, but added an air gap. I then added LEDs because I'm a streamer and I have a problem.

    This is the type of objective review I was looking for. Thank you so much for this! Also, I noticed in another commend that you don't have the equipment for other types of shooting, so if you're looking for assistance with stuff like that, feel free to hit me up! Looking forward to more content like this!

    Great video. Do you have a link on how you made those glass wool panels?

    • @KickedTripodYT
      @KickedTripodYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! So I used this video as a model for it. I also added an air pocket so it doesn't sit right on the wall. And I added RGB because I have a problem. :)

    Would be great to take a look at your sound panel DIY project for making your own acoustic sound panels. Great content, man and the animations were dope 😉✌️

      Thanks a ton! I don't really have the recording equipment to show everything sadly, but I've added it to the list of content I want to do once I get a mobile microphone set up.

    Here to see if these were made to quality or just priced based on the brands name

    I would DIY it but I'm afraid of catching something from the rock wool LOL Elgato could improve these by making the stands pre-assembled or a single piece of hexagon-shaped plastic. From other reviews I hear that they are flimsy and will break if you're not careful. They should have also included at least three times as many Command strips as they do. A Benjamin for just six panels is eyewatering but all things considered I am going to have to save up for 12 panels to do my room justice.
    Thanks for an even-handed and technically sound review. Subscribed!

    Are panels a good idea for a media room with a sound bar?

    • @KickedTripodYT
      @KickedTripodYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acoustic treatment is great for any room where you want to mitigate bouncing. Professional auditoriums and theaters use glass/rock wool or other treatment to mitigate reverb and bouncing (as well as isolating the sound from other rooms).
      I'm not super knowledgeable about how treating a room for media applications would be different than for personal recording applications, but I do know that treating your room won't hurt. :)

    FInally a proper video about these panels, and no screaming about covering your wall 100% with the cheapest stuff you can find.
    A small remark about the camera. The AF jumps a lot. Manual fokus for this kind of a recording is perfect and no stress :)

    Easy enough to build your own acoustic treatment, for a lot less money. Back in the day we hung up carpet padding and carpet on the walls.

    • @KickedTripodYT
      @KickedTripodYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Building your own is always an option with stuff like this-as I mention in my video, I built my own glass wool panels for about $25/panel. Hanging carpet, we now know, is pretty ineffective for handling low frequencies. There's going to be little value by hanging carpet+padding vs. just getting cheap 12x12x1 panels.
      IMO, I wouldn't recommend DIYing acoustic treatment if you're not doing glass wool panels.

      @@KickedTripodYT when you say glass wool, are you referring to fiberglass or rock wool?

    • @KickedTripodYT
      @KickedTripodYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ellisgl Glass Wool is what it is called. It generally has different properties than home insulation, but it's closest to fiberglass wool.
      Rock Wool is great for insulating noise between rooms, but isn't as good at absorbing the energy.
      If you didn't want to wait to order glass wool or can't find it locally, fiberglass wool will get you 95% there.
