- Winter festivals are the best thing I have ever experienced in kinnaur. Khwakcha is one of my favourite festival since childhood. Kwakcha is three days celebration. It starts from Noskalang to gompanang. Our village Labrang is divided into 4 parts . Kwakcha is all about traditional dance, songs, traditional rituals and many more . We make special drink known as chaang called as Yuu in our dialect. Winters are all about celebration.
Kwakcha - A winter festival celebrated in kinnaur (Humso) Labrang, kanam, spillow and Karla villages are collectively known as Humso Gudi.
Kwakcha is three day festival. Which is being celebrated since past time in Labrang village. Kwakcha is also known as winter festival. This festival is festival of snow and happiness. People enjoy with traditional songs and dance called as shonma.
Dheerkyam is another festival celebrated in Labrang.
This year it was my privilege to witness this beautiful festival and Iam happy that I was able to share this vibrant festival with all of you.
