Two New DLC Changes that Turned Legendary Difficulty Into A Nightmare - Chaos Gate Daemonhunters

  • Just want to mention two changes that really dialed up legendary difficulty to 11. I don't remember ever struggling this much except when I first started playing the game. These two changes are pretty damn rough and I wanted to share my thoughts on them.

    thank you for everything you are the reason why i started my legendary campaign. im on day 700 on legendary and the nerfing of the justicar had me in alot of trouble 😭😭

    You can use the hailer skull to taunt enemies but it’s range sucks and only has limited health and no parry, so yeah I totally agree with you man, It takes out so much build potential. Btw, the problem you facing only occurs in grand master, I just did a 3 knight Rambo mission. 2 justicar and an interceptor. I really think that 4 knight is over kill cuz I can reload earlier saves. My legendary run is mostly 3 knight cuz I need to kill my knight to get ability points. At end of the campaign I could max out like 3 to 4 knight cuz I kill a knight almost every missions. But I don’t think you’d enjoy save scumming cuz it’s so boring on the stream and video.( I juts spend like 1 hours last night to get my omnissiah’s chosen interceptor for 20% crit and 4 crit damage.)
    P.S. if you don’t mind you ramble more lol? I am at the discovering phase too, I’d love to learn more about new systems.

    I got to enjoy the GLORIOUS MELEE spec for most my current play through and the Provoke nerf is fucking ROUGH. Looking forward to what you have cooking in the future bro!

      The GLORIOUS MELEE WILL NEVER DIE AS LONG AS I DRAW BREATH. I am working on some completely new builds and guides for this update. It really flipped the script on a lot of the things i learned about this game.

    This is great. I've really been looking forward to this release, feeling that the game has so much potential. Agreed about the new provoke, although as I started my new playthrough below 'Ledge' the wound effects are minor in comparison which is good. Taking the day off is a great idea.

    a thing I have find out that costed me my campaign. Stay the hell out of the technophage mission, you only get dreadnought after craftworld mission. It’s suicidal to do technophage mission before that… And other one that cost me a campaign was the bug at the first dlc mission. Damn 20+ hours gone. This dlc is so misleading.

      Yeah I learned that the hard way too. I was able to complete one without a dread. But it took me over two hours to do and resulted in three wounded and one dead knight for a measly two archeotech point. Not worth doing without dreadnaught or without mid to late game gear.

    I just got the game a few weeks ago on sale when I heard the expansion is coming out. Decided to go crazy and do a Legendary play through for my first run. I've been save scumming the shit out of it but I'm slowly but steadily making progress.

      There is no shame in save scumming. All paths that bring Glory to the Emporah are worth pursuing.

    They needed to nerf the interceptors and their absurd +10 damage via ranged support just for BEING THERE (its basically two actions each turn for free and no willpower cost) and not drop the justicar to C tier.

    Hi Khan ! First of all, thank you for all the awesome videos ! I just started a new campaign (i waited for the new duty eternal DLC). Now all guides on YT feel like outdated, even yours. Are you planning to make a tier-list for each class and abilitys?! Would be awesome and much needed ! Greetings from germany !
    I also hear that you cant use the dreadnought on every mission which rly sucks, i hope the devs will change that asap !

      I am planning doing a Major guide on the DLC. This will include updates on my other guides including, whether they were completely screwed or are salvageable, which one still work and what minor or major adjustments need to be made to them in order for them to still be viable. Along with everything else that was changed or affected.

      @@gameghiskhan Sounds awesome mate ! I dont know ,maybe its just me but something seems wrong with the dlc. Some missions are faceroll and some are crazy hard. The new technophage missions for example, really tough. I manage to clear two of them without a Dreadnought, i dont even know how to get one lol 🤣

    The new inertial field warp surge kills both rambo and 1 turn purifier build by disabling teleports... this will be interesting, time to do range build i guess :(

      I have one in mind. But I got lot going right to do it. I have to first make a major guide that revises all my old guides and provides new tips and trick. This update was huge so it will take a bit.

    I also made a legendary run a few days ago and currently, I have almost the same number of days in the game as you.
    I got the update several hours earlier and after reading the patch note I know I'm fcked hard enough as my Interceptor and Apothecary are being wounded.
    Bad day for our GKs. I'm thinking of taking a break to see if the devs decide to rebalance again.
    The new enemies are already more brutal and now our GKs are getting squishy and squishier.

    Just got Legenda Tytana after update (whithout DLC) and finishing game on legendary. Now planing to try new DLC so wish me luck ;)

    I can see that hurting your play style, you usually run a very small crew compared to what I’m used to, like six guys. I usually boost my barracks and keep 12 guys around, picking up guys for 1 Requisition. And Apothecaries help too.

      Yeah. I used to keep just one squad for the entire first half of the game. No more, that -10 is brutal.

    Bro, there is one more something I noticed that cover now is so important(at least early game) as before I never cared about cover, cuz I can just ramp up enemy to my justicar and deal with them with whatever I want. But now I really have to think where should I position my knights and where the enemies going to position themselves. And I wonder if you noticing that mission length has increased due to that more often I need use a turn juts to position my knight.

      Yeah that is why I like the new wound changes. I have to change up my play style significantly and it's like I'm experiencing a completely new game.

    Should have made this game about the eldar. Would have fit the more glass cannony style of game design going on in this game.

    Have not got the DLC yet ,but I believe you cannot have 3 of the same servitors.

    I think you may be misusing one key resource. Time. Pay out in time, get healed a bit more and take the hit for the consequences.

      I did that on a Technophage mission that I tried without a dread. Freaking took me two hours and three wounded, one dead knight to complete for a measly 2 archeotech.

    Yeah I like the dlc but the fact they nerfed all the op things but buffed nothing makes me slightly annoyed besides that the dreadnought is fun

      @@sturmyfamily yeah I have about the same save, full stasis chamber, almost all skills maxed out, everything from the armory, tho games becomes a faceroll long before that point

    I haven't gotten the DLC, but the base game had a 10GB update. It appears these nerfs are not just in the DLC but in the base game.
    I checked in my campaign, 150 days, before the Craftworld, Merciful Difficulty (for achievements). The nerfing of Provoke, from Range 10 Area 2 to Range 0 Area 2, is definitely in the base game; my Justicar has its nerfed version. I imagine the nerfing of Lightly Wounded and Wounded from -3 and -6 MaxHP to -5 and -10 MaxHP is in the base game too; I'll find out when I start playing it again.
