    What Christian said really resonates. As a child I used to go to neighbor's house without knowing them, waiting for their kids to show up so we can chill, meanwhile their parents would serve me a tea and some biscuits, while either asking me about studies or school or showing me some cartoon on TV. Good old times.

    London has a great walking culture, you can walk hours in the city center and around, always to different areas, and you never walk alone. That must be the best thing about London that I haven't seen anywhere else

    i live in chicago and was visiting LA. I was left alone for a few hours so i decided to walk down the block and grab a in and out burger and my cousin freaked out and said ppl dont walk any where here. and ppl must have thought you were homeless or something. WTF is wrong with Californians? you have the best weather in the country and you refuse to walk anywhere? that place is really too dam superficial for me. Everything is about how others perceive you.

    • @fredgarvinMP
      @fredgarvinMP 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Your friend sounds weird. Isn't In-N-Out burger good though? People here used to take the in-n-out burger bumper sticker and cut off the "b" and "r" off burger and make the sticker say, "In-N-Out URGE". Reason #1,326 why I love my city! Google image search it...

      Stfu theres places you cant walk so yeah ppl will look at you if youre walking somewhere you shouldnt for example the entrance to a tunnel near LAX (LA Airport) isnt a place to walk through because it has highway speed and theres no sidewalk except some little side walk here and there for tunnel repairs. If youre walking through there ppl will try to tell you its too dangerous! LA is a city made for driving way back in the day. It would cost a hell of a lot to take down some areas to make it more walk friendly and there's areas that are to long to walk because of old citys layout. And public transportation sucks ass here. (Go to San Pedro and Long Beach city limits or Carson and Compton City limits you will see why ppl dont want or like to walk through there)

    He is 100% right abt L.A. Glad there are still artists who are not all materialistic & superficial. Bale was always sharp as knife, smart, not typical Hollywood star, brilliant actor, who wants his privacy & doesn't want this idiotic celebrity-kind of life, 17 yrs together with one woman; some idiots say she is not as hot as him - only just another proof of how amazing he is, coz clearly he fell in love with her coz of who she is not how she looks. Rare breed of man you are, Christian !

      yes i'm getting old not that old though., but LA and especially Hollywood were cities that were mysterious and unique. Downtown LA was just working class people. At night it was no mans land.Hollywood too. Now its filled with pretentious models, wanna-be starving artists, and just to many fake people trying to one up each other also known as hipsters.( fake people doing fake things). The 90's were a great time to do crazy stuff without cellphone cameras, social media and just living life hard because we didn't have to try and impress people for " like " buttons. No, 10 years from now, a decadent society will finally eat their cake. All good things come to an end.

    People knocking on your door to come-over was everyday in the 90s here in Canada. Up until 2000 that's when the culture really started to change. Its still like that somewhat in Montreal. Otherwise it was just like England. It was literally a walking culture. Everyone has a car now and isolated from others even with homes.

    I'm from the US, recently came back from Spain and it was so lively evertime we went out and walked for less than a minute. It felt like getting depressed because of loneliness and not being able to make friends should not be as much of an issue in warmer parts of Europe as compared to US.

    As a kid, as a teen, and in my early twenties, I would just show up to a friend's house whenever and it was cool. It didn't become a problem until they had families and their significant other had a problem with it. It wasn't until a year ago when I realized I hate people showing up. My friend and I were getting into something private and this 19 year old kid I befriended kept calling my phone. I didn't answer. Then he showed up at my door wanting to come in with his girlfriend. I explained we were doing cocaine and wanted privacy. Next thing you know, people are saying I'm a crackhead. I live in Cleveland Ohio.

      He's not Welsh. His parents are English and he says himself he is English and not Welsh. He was just born in Wales. Easier just to say British as both Welsh ans English are British.

    • @bad_robot4842
      @bad_robot4842 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It doesn't. He was just born in Wales to English parents and left Wales as a baby. He has an English accent as he grew up in England, has English parents, and he even says himself he is English and not Welsh. If he was born in Wales and raised in Wales he would have been Welsh. But he wasn't.

      If the Welsh want him just let them have him, they haven't got much else except maybe a football team made up of English men and Gareth Bale. The Welsh are lovely people though, I have to say.

      A good friend of mine (may he RIP) was born in Wales as his family had to evacuate during the war but after it ended, he moved back to Dagenham and around Essex which was where he grew up. He never once considered himself Welsh. Birthplace is simply that, a place of birth. Bale himself has never identified as a Welshman only English.
