  • AN expert has told how she watched what appeared to be an assassination attempt on King Charles right in front of her eyes.
Prince Charles, as he was then known, was targeted by protester David Kang at an Australia Day speech in Sydney in 1994.
Kang, then 23, fired two blank shots from a starting pistol - but for a moment onlookers thought he had tried to kill Charles.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told how she saw Kang "catapult" himself at Charles in the bizarre stunt.
Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, Bond said: "We were in Australia and it was Australia Day.

I so admire the Queen very much. Not so much King Charles. I am glad he treats Princess of Wales Catherine, or I would be so angry at him for not being kind and compassionate to Princess Catherine.

It’s really not the person who is making the attempts , it’s the people behind that person who is ether paying them or something els … trust me I’ve had a great career in these kinds of situations….. it’s always someone else behind that person who is making the attempt …

Thanks for sharing ,the responsibility of a body guard is to throw himself as a shield to protected the king, he deserves to be awarded every father's day from the king.❤

I went to an event where she was the guest speaker. Lovely lady and talking about Princess Diana. I learned nothing new and felt cheated when played excerpts of the funeral. One, we've all seen that and two she was charging a pretty penny to attend, so I wasn't a happy bunny. 🤔

Prince Charles was accompanied by NSW Premier John Fahey MP. He went on to become the Federal Finance Minister MHR. I worked for him as Finance Minister. But, this story became his social jam. Not that he needed it. People lived John. But, constituents loved him for jumping in from of The Prince. It was a wonderful moment. RIP John Fahey.

This is like your grandma telling tall stories because her age has misted over the truth. Some of the rubbish she has been coming out with recently was never spoken about before, because it didn't happen. She was a bit of a outcast to the Royal family for decades for being indiscreet. Let's not forget that.

@anne-mariemurray8887 It was a harmless starting pistol and not a protest at the Royal Family but some other issue. So scary at the time but Charles simply carried on after the protestor was apprehended.

Stop trying to rationalize/make excuses for the dastardly duo, they’re middle age adults, for cryin’ out loud…(even though they’re both developmentally arrested); they both were given every opportunity to learn, grow, and develop into worthwhile people…just accept that no one can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and there ARE just plain ole bad seeds…

I am glad that Charles escaped the attempt on his life!
""In 1994, Charles III then Prince of Wales, visited Australia. He was giving a speech in Darling Harbour during the Australia day
celebrations. David Kang ran up to the Prince and fired two blanks before falling onto the ground; he was arrested by many police
officers. The Prince was unhurt and was ushered off the podium"" -- ABC News
*Hmm .... I wonder how long Australia will keep the monarch as the head of their state?*
""Since 1867, the British royal family has visited Australia over fifty times, with only six visits before 1954. Elizabeth II is the first
and only reigning monarch of Australia to have set foot on Australian soil; she first did so on 3 February 1954, when she was 27
years old. During her sixteen journeys, the Queen visited every Australian state and the two major territories. The first member
of the Royal Family to visit Australia was Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, son of Queen Victoria, in 1867. The trip was fraught
with disaster. ... Prince Alfred then departed for Brisbane. Upon his return to Sydney in March, the Duke was shot by Henry
James O'Farrell in an assassination attempt while picnicking on the beach in the Sydney suburb of Clontarf, on 12 March 1868.
The Duke recovered fully and continued on to New Zealand seven months later. "" -- Wikipedia ("Royal Tours of Australia")

Cancer and treatment really takes a toll on the immune system. Unlike a cold or flu which comes and goes quickly she may never get the previous energy level back. She may always be a part time Royal. Pushing and stress may trigger any cancer back.
I am a cancer survivor and pace myself . Princess Catherine is wise to not go too fast. Her role as a mother and a wife is a priority.
    God Bless Princess Catherine.😇❤

The Princess of Wales will resume duties when the doctors give her the go ahead. Leave her alone and stop pressuring her to make appearances.
Harry is impulsive and a drug user. He walked away. The time has come to drop Harry and Megan. Turn off those lights and shut the door.
