The thing at 0:30 is the motor speed resistors. The resistors get connected into the electric circuit when you select a fan speed. They are built into the air duct, so they get cooled while the motor is turned on. A car motor can draw 10amps easy, so the resistors get hot.
Thanks... Can you also do a video on how the expensive trim options vs economy trim options control the selectors? As we know in expensive options, the Fan control and vent selectors are digital. But I am more curious how the analog buttons make this work? Is there a cable attached behind the knob to make it work?
So if you turned it further from the face setting, it would go face and screen. I'll experiment eventually since face and screen would be perfect in summer time.
Been trying to get info on how to fix mine and it's hard to find. My heat will not work on the main vents, only feet and defroster settings will my heat work. Again I kind get any diagnostic guide on the internet to what might be that cause.
Hey Cols, great video. I was looking for some information on this. On my 07 Accord, when I turn the selector to have heat on my feat only, I continue to get a significant amount of air irregardless if its cold or hot. Any ideas on this?
I'm not really an expert on this.. (the one in the video is the only one I've seen, just found it interesting). Anyway, (in my car at least) the selector is not exactly a precision part. There is kind of a flimsy plastic sheet wrapped around it which blocks off some holes, so possibly that could come loose. Or if the selector drum is loose itself it would leave gaps around the edges.
Awesome, precise and excellent information. This is exactly what I was trying to understand
Thank you!! I work with a kid who's obsessed with car vents, and this was perfect for him 👌
This video is so clear and on point, there is so few of u out here bro

Thanks! I couldn't figure out what it was.
Wow so simple but complex at the same time
i watched this video 5 years ago and i forgot what it was and now i've finally found it
A very clear explanation. Thanks a lot
wow you are a genious mate, very clear explanation
now i understand how this work. my car blower is working but no heat. so now i know what i need to look for.
So nice and simple video
Finally a great explanation, thanks.
good demo, now i know how it works.
thank you
Mohsen Y you need to post the reasons why the direction selector switch would be jammed stuck on one position.
Thank you for the video, helped me a lot
Well explained 👏

Super.
Also I want to know about how ac controls works
Good day sir! Is it ok if we delete the car heater hose connection from our car?

How much power is needed for the fan to spin ?
good job
what does this part as a whole called ?
do all vehicle heaters are powered by engine coolant circulation.
How about if only one selection is working?
