- Here is how i clean my radiators on my quads. i did one off the LTR so you can see how it works better. but this method works on the quad just as well. i used nu-calgon brand NU-BRITE coil and condenser cleaner. i also do this on my cars and trucks to keep the a/c and radiator working 100%

After using core cleaner , Put baking soda and water in another spray bottle to neutralize the acid . Then spray with water again . Always neutralize any acid this way
Would WD-40 work the same way to neutralize the acid?

He rinsed more than enough to deal with any acid leftover.
But spraying with baking soda and water is a good habit to get into especially for somebody that may have a tendency to not rinse as well as the guy in the video.

This works wonders. thanks for sharing. I used the left over to clean my bbq grill and it cleaned it through and through. It is pretty tough cleaner if you ask me since it got rid of 6 years worth of bbq dirt. lol.

Did it messed up the radiator overtime after cleaning it?
@@Sunshine-dz5uc no it did not that I noticed, my one suggestion is to let it sit and soak in. I washed it off to fast and I had to buy another can and redo it properly. Just make sure you get one that says aluminum safe if you order a different brand.

One thing you might want to consider is using a cleaner made for "micro channel" coils. That's the type of air conditioning coil this most closely resembles. The cleaners for the copper pipe coils have been known to eat away at micro channel coils too easily and cause leaks over time.
@@newpylong They have a million different types, it can get annoying trying to figure out which one, lol
Which type of cleaner would that be?
@@MrJohnnyDistortionusually, if it says “coil brightener” that’s the ones to watch out for, they strip a very thin layer of the aluminum off to “clean”. The foam is the thin layer of aluminum being dissolved, like most anything put into an acid.

I'm shocked how well it worked. I honestly thought it was going to be a clickbait thumbnail like some other TH-camrs use. Do you need to flush it through the inside after also?
To begin with your radiator is not bad just has some regular dirt on it you can probably clean it with a hose, in my case i had a car radiator with a log more dirt and oil on it that burned to the radiator.
Spray can of bug and tar remover works just as well. Not as corrosive as that coil cleaner

Yeah I work at Blue Beacon truck wash we use that chemical on aluminium parts on big trucks we call it brightener or acid.
the chemical brightner is acid this alkaline base. not nearly as agressive

alto 800 car radiyator how to remove and cooland and distilled watter mix rasio plees
5% sulfuric acid and distilled water, 40 degrees celsius 10-15 minutes, wash it with water then 3-4% hydrofluoric acid and distilled water 25-35 degrees celsius, 5 minutes and its better than new inside and out.. rinse well with warm water. works with everything aluminium. this is not a spray on job, the piece has to be completely submerged, old bath tub, big bucket etc otherwise you'll get dark/black patches because the aluminium with the acid oxidises realy fast in the air and you have to start over. cheers from italy
mabey i didnt explain myself in my comment, i wasnt saying he used a acid. I was talking about what i use. its a bit aggressive but if do it right there's no problems. if you have the possibility to buy concentrated acids and you learn how to do it right it ends up cheaper and the results are better. cheers
plastic coated floors where i do this plus a full facial mask with the best and biggest 3M filters i could find and my shop when i do this is in negative pressure(with all the filters for the air that goes outside) dont worry, i'm not the sharpest bowling ball in the shed but i want to get old :) and you dont lose that much acid/water, you let the piece drain for 2/3 minutes before the next stage (anymore and it starts to turn dark, especialy on the sulfuric) you only lose the acid if you leave the piece in too long but you also lose the piece(if you leave piece overnight in the morning there is nothing left)
the end result is not as good and you dont clean inside

Ask your buddy that works for a ac company for nuclear or new bright for condenser coil cleaner but also ask how to (safely)use. It will burn skin and take a layer off

Is it ok if the radiator still attached on the bike with coolant in it and we clean with coil cleaner? Will it harm your coolant system?
i have another video of doing a rzr radiator while installed. there is no issue i just suggest make sure every is cooled down and wet the frame and engine down before doing it
