- Sunderland ended their season with a pathetic 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday today in a game where it was more important to pay tribute to two of our own, Jack Shields and Charlie Hurley and as per usual the fans did not disappoint.
It's time to focus on the future now and get next season right.

No worries Wayne . Support for jack was great. However, I do have to say I was abit disappointed with the level of support the players received when they walked around the pitch at the end of the game . There was only about 5000 left in the stadium for the support. 😔 The team was changed and the players didn't know what they were doing . Bishop was at fault for the 1st goal. His positioning was terrible at the near post. Their manager won't come to us at all and we must go for will still and he will rebuild the team. 👍
I was at home watching the game but I gave him a min applause 👏 🥺💔🔴⚪️

I turned on the Sunderland stream at 12.45 and when it was 12.59 I stood up in my sitting room and give Jack the one minute applause he so deserved, I said I would do it and I did but the stream I had on didn’t show Jacks picture but I did hear the announcement, yes I’m a Mag but that doesn’t matter a young lad loved bye so many lost his life so Jack Rip young lad you’ve left so many people devastated ❤️.

As for the match.....no forget it. The management are under the microscope after that poor season with their utter pi$$ taking of the attending fans.

Birmingham is a proper example of what happens when you get rid of a steady manager that’s been working and progressing towards something. It upended their entire season and KLD made the same mistake but to a lesser extent. Beale may have been bad but at least he didn’t singlehandedly get Sunderland relegated. Hopefully KLD has taken some lessons from this campaign and Sunderland comes back stronger next season

Totally agree Stephen, big respect to them and everyone who applauded for him, shame the players showed nothing like that kind of passion and heart.
Our season turned when KS sacked TM and under Dodds has regressed to L1 standards, that's the top and bottom of it and most of the players struggle to respond when questioned about their application and desire simply because they're unable to because they're inexperienced and don't know how to. I've heard it said that they're over coached but I doubt Dodds has the experience himself to even know where to start. Thanks for the season's vlogs Wayne, it's been a hard slog and looking forward to next season is as far as I'm concerned an exercise few of us ars probably very confident of, all the best and stay healthy, see you next time around. It has been a tough one and I fear more of the same next unless KLD grows a pair of balls and makes big bold decisions which I fear he will not. But we will be here next season regardless. Fantastic tributes for Jack Shields and Charlie Hurley.Supporters deserve alot better going forward.That was very poor once again,apart from Jack Clarke being unlucky with one of his chances.Dodds has had his chance and no respect to the guy but there should be a fresh approach with him being nowhere near the first team.
Totally agree Stephen, It was great to see everyone clapping for Jack and shame the players and the manager couldn't show the same passion.

As an ex pat living in Malta I started watching SAFC FanTV for the games and knew Jack from there lovely lad and the fans did him proud .I'm old enough to have watched Charlie Hurley play and my all time hero .Charlie and Jack will be chatting away RIP to them .Dread to think where we go from here but as always Keep the faith Haway the lads

Hiya Wayne. Tough day today. Remember no matter who owns the club it belongs to the fans. Just watched Luke O'Niens' and Dodds aftermatch interviews....they have left me fuming. Summed up why things are so wrong on the pitch. Players not hurting one bit and as for Dodds he hasn't a clue how to coach or manage people. KLD and the board must have a major rethink or go it is as simple as that.
Hi Ian, this is the trouble. Players who could not give a monkeys about us. I remember when we got relegated to League One and George Honeyman crying on an interview. Not the most talented of players but always showed heart and passion. We have none of that now.
@onlyfoolsandsafc Agree Wayne, I know passion and commitment can only take your so far you also need ability and know how but without it you have nothing ...... things only deteriorate. Once you get complacent and arrogance creeps in, it is a recipe for failure. A good example is the stadium. It was built and has been left to rot. Signage faded, stonework covered in moss and dirt, roof leaking, search lights not working, toilets not working, lower standards of food in corporate area etc etc. These things are an example of what happens when issues are ignored it is the same on the pitch. It all comes from the management of the club. It is the same for any business or household. Change needs to happen or else things will only get worse. Take Care!
Think Clark and Ballard be gone and rumour is Clark could go for ten to fifteen mil only and I will bet that money not spent on players ,that Speakman thinks d odds doing good job watch this space for the return of yes man d odds again next season

Super tribute to Jack. I am very proud of all the fans who showed their respect to one of their own. As far as the game is concerned, Dodds like Beale has clearly lost the team in his short spell. This was pure relegation form. Clarke tried very hard and once again showed he is our only real quality player but they will now sell him. I felt particularly sad for Brum and TM who were relegated because we did not turn up. You are right we need to change the whole set up from the ownership to the team. Your season long analysis has been spot on!

This season has been a joke and should never be forgotten.
No striker, no experience, getting rid of experience, constantly passing from the back, boring to watch, getting rid of a "head coach" everyone liked, bringing in Michael Beale, moving home fans for Newcastle, giving Newcastle our bar, giving Newcastle 6k, decorating our bar for them, no upkeep of the stadium, lieing about the attendances, taking away flags, not putting up nets to protect our supporters, stopping fan ran displays, no enough stock in shop, the card machines going down on derby day, shite cups for hot drinks, not enough kits, wrong cup tickets getting issued, digital season card only, ticket office ran into the ground.... The list can go on tbh, and all while making a £9m lose.
This is all on the decision making of the ownership and board.

The Sunderland fans should’ve said something after the match to the owners and to the sporting Director should’ve shouted at him. It’s a waste of time talking about it on social media. Do you really think they’re gonna read social media? These lot? They’re not gonna go on Sunderland pages and read comments, we had the chance shout at all of them but we bottled it now. Will change if you don’t open your mouth like next season will change because we’ve got three clowns at the club and we should’ve said something at the stadium for them to eat it, but we didn’t Because people are scared to open their mouth at the stadium because they might get insulted or they might get a smack in the mouth that’s all about opinions. Everyone’s got different opinions but these three clowns will wreck this club. It’s a big summer for the club and if they don’t pick the right manager, you thought this season was bad. Next season will be worse if they don’t pick the right man.
Players don't really care and they are thinking about their holiday in the summer which is unacceptable and is how modern day footballers are, totally unacceptable.

@@onlyfoolsandsafc I was at the game and the perfr from the team was just flat, my first choice for our next gaffer is Will Still. He's young and upcoming and I think that's what we need because experience doesn't always work look at David Moyes.
Got a few things to say, first I want to say congrats to Sheffield Wednesday for staying up, also congrats to Ipswich for getting promoted to the prem, unlike us they've actually showed everyone how to be really ambitious when you've just come up from league one, also we've got to thank Mowbray for getting us enough points in the first part of the season to be just about safe and finally well done to this wonderful regime for absolutely destroying this season, I want action now I want statements to be announced immediately and before people say but the season's just ended no our season ended the day they sacked Mowbray and had no plan B, I say this lot have had plenty of time already to think about what they've done wrong this season, ideally I want a statement to come out about the club being put up for sale or at the very least Speakman and Dodd's are leaving, if none of these options happen then we're getting relegated next season cos the rot has set in now and the only way we come back from this is massive changes behind the scenes, massive summer ahead for this football club but like I said unless there's changes with the coaching staff, regime and ownership then I can only see us going one way and that's back down to the league one
Hi mate, 1000% agree with all that you said, but I fear there will be no statement and no major changes. Probably Will Still and his Brother as manager and Assistant with the rest of the clowns behind the seasons, including Speakman. Ipswich should be an example to us all. Ambitious owners who believed and backed up their statements.
