Thankyou guys for creating an absolute perfection. Outstanding, incredible and a testament to your fantastic workmanship that they both still are in A1 Concourse condition. Again, thankyou for showing us and thankyou for creating a hobby that all good people love. You guys are the best.
Fifty-two years ago my parents had a solid black ‘58 BelAir, 348-4barrel, chromed edition. I loved this car! It was the first car I ever drove and it broke my heart when my Dad sold it to a friend for $100! It developed a dime-sized hole in the tailpipe and the bigger it got the better the exhaust sounded…organic glass packs? 😂. Great video and thanks for the memories! ~Jim~
for all that say what a waste letting it sit in garage, this is probably the best way to preserve it. At 4:50 he says the previous paint hair crack with the sun. why would he make same mistake twice.
It cracks me up all these people that say he should drive the car...he bought it, he built it, he turned it into something that makes him ( and alot of people) happy just the way it is...it's modern art...it's not sitting in a field getting worse by the day..it's a perfectly preserved time capsule...if you don't like it build your own
Everyone else likes the tri-five Chevys and they're nice. I wasn't born until 68 and my normal projects are "square body" (GM called them Rounded Line) trucks. However, I fell in love with the 58 passenger cars watching American Gaffetti and if I could find one to restore for a reasonable price I'd haul it home today! Beautiful car in this video and the truck is awesome too...I'd be proud to be the caretaker of either one!
I saw that panel painted 58 in a car magazine when I was 6 or 7 and it burned a hole in my brain.Just a small pic of it sitting at an indoor car show. Might even been in black + white, cant remember. Not sure if it was R+C or HR I thought it was some highly modified custom and I am amazed when I was older it was all in the paint scheme. #1 58 of all time.Myself, I would have to run this on the street though. Mox Miller you're a King in my book. 58 truck is Bitchin' as well..Love to see the collection in person.
If they kept it garaged in southern California, it doesn't matter how long they had it there. They're both fantastic examples of of 1960s show vehicles. Everyone who sees this car will give you much respect because you've preserved this piece of automotive history. All we can say about all that chrome is, WOW, Shiny! Your dad's truck is awesome as well! Your gold 58 Impala is nice. Since you're not into selling anything, perhaps you should see about finding, restoring, and preserving one of each of the 1958 Chevrolet cars and trucks ? We're hoping . If you decide to take our suggestions, we'll be happy to send you whatever research we've already done to show you which models are needed to complete your collection.
+ perish hilton. ..... that's a true car nut there, he might need a part off of another motor, so keep the lot, right...? .....how crazy is that.......to quote Scottie D.
Smart guy I sold everything 86 mustang,87 Buick gran national, 1968 Impala 72 Cadillac 76 RX4, man I wish I would of kept any of those cars now I'm saving to get a good deal on anything from back then newer cars] are cool but not like this
My aunt had a garage kept '60 that she drove up until the early 90s when she bought a used '87 Caprice and sold the '60 about 5 years later to a guy for $400.
Somehow, the 58 Chevy has become my favorite 50s Chevrolet. It actually is the least "crazy" 58 GM automobile IMO. And, it is quite nice! (not that I would not enjoy a 58 El Dorado).
HEHE take them to a carshow now 50+ years later , and they are still gonna get the same attention.. let these old ladies back in the spotlight :) they still got it
Did this Mox Miller also have a 1968 Camaro funnycar that was black with rainbow colored lace and flames? His name has come up recently in some discussion boards... This is one bad 58!!! Thanks for posting, same goes for the truck!!!
All the 1958 GM cars were real bombs; normally, most car makers would keep a basic design for three years or so with moderate changes before a massive re-design; the 1955-57 GM cars, particularly the Chevrolet are a great example of this. But the radical redesign of the 58s only lasted a year; gee, I wonder why.
Because GM was caught off guard by the Chrysler corp sleeker forward look cars . in personaly love the 58 chevy and wish the body style had lasted longer than it did.
awesome car ! and its great that he doesn't drive it or it would be ruined especially being lacquer paint it would check real bad and run a masterpiece... I totally get it....
There are enough fine examples of factory stock cars out there ;) . Usually the custom builders/hot rodders/lowriders take an old rusted out car and restore it the way they like. Its better than leaving it slowly dying in barn or woods. If all the cars would look the same as they came out from factory, the world would be boring place. I agree that classy original car is nice and cool, but there are plenty of them, they are not extinct.
+Barbecue Bacon Boii It was at the 62nd Grand National Roadster show in 2011, still owned by Mox Miller. www.hotrod.com/events/coverage/1107rc-62nd-annual-grand-national-roadster-show/

That is a piece of art .the 58 Impala is art
Like the58 better than others 😊😊❤❤❤❤
2 absolutely drop dead gorgeous looking vehicles..
Panel paint job( sometimes called scallups) and "kidney" Hallabrand the best of the late 50's and early 60's,,,loved them then and still do...Thanks
Thankyou guys for creating an absolute perfection. Outstanding, incredible and a testament to your fantastic workmanship that they both still are in A1 Concourse condition. Again, thankyou for showing us and thankyou for creating a hobby that all good people love. You guys are the best.

Carros maravilhosos! Sou do Brasil e admiro essas maravilhas antigas!
Start it up and drive it man! Life is short, go for it...
IMO, he ruined her by NOT keeping her stock! Typical Left Coast mentality, plus it sounds like he has NOT done much of the work himself?
My favorite part "I don't sell nothin"
+ perish hilton. ..... that's a true car nut there, he might need a part off of another motor, so keep the lot, right...? .....how crazy is that.......to quote Scottie D.
Right, you probably can't speak English either. Duh, I don't mean Nuthin by it.
He can’t live forever
Dbl negative... which means he sells things.

It actually is the least "crazy" 58 GM automobile IMO. And, it is quite nice! (not that I would not enjoy a 58 El Dorado).

Curious about the 348 in the first iteration.
Danny Koker (Count's Customs) still uses similar paint schemes today.
Music: Tioga by the frogmen
Spent 20 years looking for it. God bless Shazam

I think its awesome he doesn't drive it.. its to risky to drive a car like that.. just fun to own it and look at it..
Agreed! Driving it will cause it rust and wear.. better to preserve it and save it
Agreed, it's a beautiful jewel, which normally fine jewelry, clothing and cars won't last under everyday use.
BEAUTIFUL ,,
awesome car ! and its great that he doesn't drive it or it would be ruined especially being lacquer paint it would check real bad and run a masterpiece... I totally get it....
Oh I'd love to have one his 409's. Just one pal?? Who needs 3 ??

What year was this filmed? Where are these cars now?
+Seth Thomas I* had this vid at least 20 years ago , so at a guess i would say Pat Filmed this around 1988.
The beginning showed 1995...
I drive 70s Mopar but I'm a Chevy guy you can guess I love mopowr
i agree but disagree, i like a good old classic paint job but once in a while you gotta go all out ... that right there is art :D

YES! shes alive!
You better sell it now, somebodys gonna sell it later
What year was this video filmed? Mr Pat doesn’t look old enough to have seen these cars in the early ‘60’s.
The Blue 58 is one of the 1st
Wonder were this car is now?
