Sad to see they aren’t going with the standardised CCS charger

Interesting review👍this week I see JCB is now working with Hydrogen run telehandler, I reckon three way comparison vid would be awesome. I bet some people will be disappointed not see JCB at Agritechina this year.

We're having a look at the hydrogen stuff in a few weeks, too.

I think the move to hydrogen, through a modified IC engine, seems to be JCB's chairman's plan (similar situation to Toyota with its hydrogen car). It will undoubtedly work but I think battery-electric is the way forward - with increased energy density. This JCB 525-60E is very impressive. The cost of generating, transporting and storing hydrogen will make it a very expensive fuel, whether put through a fuel cell or modified combustion engine. The next step for BEV equipment, such as this, could be eliminating hydraulics altogether and replacing it with electric actuators. BobCat already has already done this with a small machine.

Yeah, like everything vehicle based really, H2 is not going to work, battery electric is where it's at. Even though it doesn't seem like it, BEVs are still early and batteries will get ever more energy dense, lighter, smaller and cheaper as more are produced. It's simple information technology exponential curves destroying all old industrial tech on an ever accelerating timeline.
What I do find hard to understand is why they have to be so noisy. If a Tesla motor producing 500HP can be near silent unless under extreme load (and even then is only a slight whine), why does the hydraulic pump motor in this thing have to be so loud??
Not being funny or anything but can someone explain?

We own one of these. Fantastic machine. The only trouble we have is with starting. You try to move and in stops, goes on the blinks and this needs to be repeated several times before it works. JCB dealer can't fix it. Does anyone have a solution?

Hydraulic oil get to the starter as JCB did before?
