I can't be the only one who was disappointed at how Runo, Julie and Alice became background characters after season 1. Not to put shade on Mira (who somehow became even more attractive in Surge) and Fabia, because they were cool too, but those three were part of the OG crew.
At first, Alice was able to understand the knowledge of Bakugan rather than playing with them, but then Alice has a secondary personality: Masquerade in which Naga absorbed the Silent Core and the negative energy from that core caused Alice and her grandfather to have their secondary identity (Michael also became Hal-G). Later on, Alice received Alpha Hydranoid from her secondary person: Masquerade.

They have the same VA. A lot of the older series typically reuse actors because it’s simpler. Plus contracts, and since Bakugan at the time was using the same studio, it was easier to use the same studio. Stephanie Mills is a great VA tho.

How does a series go backwards far as rep goes? Original series had half the cast be girls and holding their own with the guys, and in follow up series we get one main token girl on each team. It is annoying.

That’s not entirely true. In both new vestroia and gundalian invaders Mira and Fabian were the only 2 female members of those teams. Even in mechtanium surge I’m pretty sure there was only one female teammate too
Out of all the female brawlers, i think Alice is my favorite. Not only because of her looks but because of how smart she is. Even tho she didn't do a lot, i love her attitude of her character. Sweet, caring, and supportive.

Right!? It always frustrated me that Dan, Marucho, and Shun stuck around as main characters for the entire series. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great, unique, and well written characters. But they hogged the Pyrus, Aquos, and Ventus attributes respectively for the whole series. And Marucho took even more than Aquos because he always just happened to get Bakugan that could change attribute at will, making other Darkus, Ventus, and Sub-Terra users even more irrelevant. It was a cool gimmick, sure. But SHARE THE SCREEN TIME, boys! Or at least specialize in more than one attribute and let us have some other cool Pyrus, Aquos, and Ventus users on the main squad.

Runo, Fabia, being the obvious examples and after Volt, all the Haos antagonistic users were all girls, and there are very few girl characters that used other attributes. Sure, you have exceptions like Julie, Chan (the ONLY female Pyrus user!), Alice (for as little brawling screntime she got), Mira, Mylene, and Paige, but any other girls that use other attributes are either tertiary characters like the JJ Dolls or or Sellen's goons, or they're one off characters.

The female characters in the first series are a classic gem.
The first directors had more creativity
