Lmao tom would get stopped by tsa! That's just his luck! It's so crazy to hear ol boy talk about everywhere being mined out. I'm in kingman az and just a few miles down the road is Golden Valley az. After a hard rain you can see gold on the ground all around there. There's even eluvial nuggets in the hills around oatman. At least in this area, prospecting is a profitable hobby, especially since gold is over 2k an Oz now.
I just panned gold from my rwsidential street here in utah! Its in the sand they mix with salt for traction in winter . As teenager We used to take lsd and trip out in those gravel pits 😂 i learned to windsurf in that resavoir in a program funded by 1984 olympics

Even highly enriched ore is a lot less than bullion. The processing to purify it takes time and money.
