This particular site is an old airport landing strip, so it's extremely flat. The downside is that it drains very poorly and we have to till it often just to help it dry faster so our plants don't drown.
We don't use drip on these mixed greens beds because they're so densely planted and the turnover is so quick. So we just overhead water these because they only take 21 days.
If you shaped 30 inch bed with a plow similar to here, would using the disk harrow be effective in mixing in compost similar to an electric tilther (like Johnny's) or walk behind power harrow? I would like to do as much as I can in bed shaping with a wheel hoe and broadfork next season.
Grady Rigby these walk paths are about 2 feet. It just depends on what you are comfortable with. Many market farmers plant on 30-36" beds, but we don't like to straddle that wide during harvesting so we make ours a little smaller.
thanks for the tip on drilling the #1 plate out a little larger for greens. Sure wish my place was that level.

I was there. It looked amazing as always. Hope to see y'all again next year
Glad you enjoyed it. See you there next year!
I always enjoy your videos, I got to meet you last year at the expo.
Malcolm Connor thanks! We hope you get to some see us again this year.
I just want to express my gratitude to you guys for these wonderful videos. May I please request a video of growing strawberries? Thank you
We finally had some success with growing them this year. We will put that on our to do list.
Are you using drip tape irrigation in each bed ? If so, in a 24 in bed, are you using 1 tape or 2, and were are you placing it?

Chris Polk Certainly, the disk harrow would work if your soil was well conditioned kind of like the soil in this video.
@@gardeningwithhoss how much is this ?
Will y’all be there this year?
Nope. We're done with trade shows and putting all our efforts into the videos and getting orders shipped the same day we receive them.
How wide are the walk paths, and is that the ideal measurement for them?

So if I put extender bars on my wheel hoe, can I use both plow blades to create a 2’ wide bed on one pass?
Yes, it is possible. Not sure how well it would work. Greg
