I was single and pregnant at 18. I ended up placing my daughter in an open adoption. Being single and pregnant is a horrible and traumatic experience. You have to try and cope with physical pain, your own mental health, problems with your body image, fear, guilt, while the people around you judge and criticize everything. As for adoption, you rip out your heart and hand a child that has literally been apart of you for almost a year, to someone else. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change my decision as that was the right path to take, for her and for me, but it's still incredibly painful. Between my mental health and lack of medical resources, it nearly killed me and my baby.
Why the hell should anyone be forced to go through something like that?

I’ve got gender dysphoria. I had to wear plaid dresses to mass every day, I was told to and was never one to question rules. I was always so uncomfortable. Catholic school sucked, we had a kid steal flowers from a Mother’s Day breakfast to give to a girl I our class who literally threw them out and when she came out of the bathroom he pinned her to a locker. This is middle school btw. “Gay” was considered a swear word at school. In all context. Some kid called a guy who wasn’t exactly masculine but wasn’t feminine either gay in grade 4 and they sent him to the principals office for swearing.... oh yeah not to mention no sex Ed in catholic schools. I’m in grade 10 and some girl in my class still hasn’t had the talk. Thankfully my friend group has a really chill enby, some lesbians, chill guys, and we’re just generally nonconforming to our environment and they make me feel safe

Aahhh as a full time single parent of two kids aged 1 and 3 (nearly 2 and 4 but still) that post about the girlfriend who gained weight really angers me. Yes the guy works 40 hours a week. Good for him. Full time parents work 24/7. And I mean it when I say 24 hours a day because even at night you need to be ready to get up if your kid suddenly gets sick or has separation anxiety or whatever. Or if your older kid decides it's a good idea to empty all of the toothpaste on the bathroom floor in the middle of the night (which is something my eldest does from time to time). Ugh parenting not being considered work is so frustrating.. I may be unemployed but I work a LOT.
Yessss! I'm a parent of 6! (4 biological and 2 kids from my partner) i also work part time only to help provide a little more but then I'm the one running errands, doing housework and mainly educating and supporting the children's growth. Im so relieved that my partner who works 80 hrs appreciates all the work I do rather than dog on me.
I'm not a parent but I have 5 soon to be 6 siblings (all half siblings though) and the few times I have to babysit are extremely hard because my oldest sibling is an autist and likes to get into his sensory stuff, such as shaving cream which ends up everywhere. And then I have to watch my youngest siblings (I usually only babysit these two without my parents) and he likes to stab me with pencils, slap me, and scream in my ear (he's only a baby though so I can't really blame him for it) and all I have to say is, I have no fricking clue how you guys can be stay at home parents and deal with this 24/7.

4:20 Thank you so much for saying that 'cause my mother's a stay-at-home mother AND I'm homeschooled and she gets a lot of mean or disdainfull comments. I do support feminine emancipation, but the fact that a woman CAN have a carrier and work outside the house doesn't mean she HAS too (the same goes for mans too). A lot of people think that, since she doesn't work or earn money, she's always gonna be available for anything, like she doesn't have a LIFE.
