Watched this 3 times and I am still not sure why the open ends need to be replaced by the closed ends. However, I trust Doc’s knowledge and in depth experimentation so I just ordered a Con-Box for my Flow Pan. The Man knows his stuff!
Gold Hog yes, it does. When I bought my Flow Pan, I ordered an extra set of solid sides without the openings. Doc’s recommendation was to use these sides for catching dredge and highbanker tailings to check them for gold escaping the system. I found the solid ends also worked quite well when using the Flow Pan in still water. As always, great work, Doc!
That was an excellent awareness tip about always putting water in the bottom of pan first then adding the earth so it dissolves and settles even before you agitate the mixture. I'll never forget that tip, so common sense but so wise. Pretty cool pan. ciao.
Hey there Doc! Jeff from PA here! How are ya? Thanks so much for posting this. I have a Flow Pan and it is by far one one my favorite tools as well. Now I see this Flow Pan Con Box video and I can't wait to add this to my arsenal! Thanks to you and your crew for everything you all do!
Thanks for clarifying that this is seeded pay. I was skeptical, but the point is to show the effectiveness of the equipment. Seems to work great. Can't wait to get my Hog matting for my new homebrew sluice. Cheers! Chris.
I used the Flow pan last week cleaning flood gold out of spongy moss on bedrock. I cleaned the moss in water. And removed the plant material then fed the fine dirt into flow pan scoops at a time. Did a 1/4 bucket. Got lots of fine gold. But wondered if I lost some cuz of the sides being gone and the Gold being so fine. I think with this kind of set up with closed sides and a con box, I could capture all the fine Gold. What do you think?
Whew, some hard working folks you found... at least your a good man to let them have the gold they find and BamBam gets to show off her New flow pan concentrator! Man just a few days late for me... Heading down there this weekend myself to run the Hog Pan stream sluice....
That is great and I am going have to save for one and make a weekend trip up to GA to work it and hopefully pay for the trip with the gold I find!!!! I’m out of Bradenton Florida and I’m tired of paying for paydirt.
It would seem to me that I could use this in the desert, WET, by putting a gallon or two of water in a flat tub. Scrape any rocks back onto the desert and not allow them in the tub. This would allow me to prospect a lot of material and ground with a minimal amount of water. What think?
I've been seeing a few videos on here lately where people are downing this Pan.. And it's crazy the way they're doing so.. They use the Flowpan for a day or maybe a week and they try comparing it to a regular pan that they've been using for year's.. I've been using my Flowpan for a little over a year now and I love it.. I use the Flowpan for finding the Paystreak fast and I then hit it hard with something else like my Gold Hog Stream Sluice.. Or I add my Crashbox that I made for my Gold Hog Stream Sluice. It's like everything really.. If you've been driving a big truck for year's, you then drive a small car and you feel like your butt is dragging the road..
Hey mr. Gold hog man LOL say I pan for gold up here in the Black Hills where I live up by the Deadwood mines and some other places in the Black Hills and for some reason I keep finding red sand which I was told it was called stamps and which is a mineral waste from the mining companies up here I found very little gold but for some reason I do the overburdens I do the river rock beds still have not found that proper black sand for some reason it's been red sand tons and tons of pyrite and white quartz she have any helpful hints
Why not put a small washer and thin nut on the bolt before putting the Mat on to retain the bolt instead of the Duct Tape? You could also silicon the washer down to the bottom to make it water proof so you don't loose finer Gold.
1st I bought gold hog mats and I was hooked.. Then I ordered the GH Stream Sluice and man was I surprised with the quality.. Ok.. Then I order the Hog Pan.. Lol Tat thing will make a man out of you quit if you overfill it.. Love it because it beats going to the gym.. Anyway, now I ordered the Flowpan and can't wait to use it.. Oh yeah love me some Gold Hog.. One more thing.. my girlfriend comes home from work tired and wants to crawl in the bed.. She screams what the hell!! Why is that sluice box in the bed on my side? I replied.. It's better than sex.. Lol

It allows you to work the material more aggressively without the fear of any losses. Hope that makes sense.

Always being innovative I love it. I still need to film a day out with my Flowpan I know! Hopefully soon. Thanks for sharing.
Hay Paul did u ever get that pan out
Nice project doc. Totally makes sense. Great step forward!
What I like about doc is he is always conservative and truthful
Many manufacturers guarantee you to find gold....... even where there isn't any

LOVE MY FLOW PAN
So which way is faster to work a 5 gallon bucket of material........ the flow pan or the flowpan with the added gold trap?
Ok. this looks really good. I'm going to get one of these for prospecting in VA.
I catch myself shaking my tablet screen while your agitating,
Thank you for this info
A snap rig on the bolt so when u take the wing nut off the bolt stays and u can still get the bolt out if it becomes damaged

Awesome video! I just purchased the complete kit
Just a cool product and may have to give on a try... Thanks for the video.
practical solutions! ty doc!
Can you use the new bottom on the Flow Pan with the open ends?????
Great as always doc. Luck Mcbain.

Use Loctite to hold in *glue* the mat screws, they can be easily replaced easily with a few seconds from a blowtorch.
Love it. I like watching Dan Herd gold prospecting but he doesn't use a lot of your products....I'd enjoy it more if you sent him stuff to try, LOL.

Edward E. Anderson - EXCELLENT IDEA
I did that with my flow pan just a few weeks ago in AZ, yes it works very well.....love my flowpan and have the con box on pre-order!
Great video, thanks :)

Doc, what back pack is that?
Great addition to MY FlowPan. Was this LDMA Loud mine? I assume the larger pickers were from the LDMA piles?
Not bad, it’s been a while doc
Why dont you guys put matting on one side would help keep the gold in

How many gph is your pump?
How about a nutsert, screw in the screw into the nutsert with some thread locker then put your mat in and use your wing nuts.
Always remember to: On your cleanup use liquid soap to break the resistance of the water! Keep them fines.
Does Kevin Hoagland have one yet to test dry pay in the desert?
Give doc time and he will cure cancer, so many cool ideas.
Doc for president
I lived in ga I don’t know where to go
Flow Pan + Hog Pan = Flow Hog
Hope you don't mind the naming suggestion.
good deal, add a tiger paw on it to catch even more gold
I'm guessing that was 'the brains' that handed you the pan to splash water with?
That is a cool piece of equipment----I am one of those people that would not want to make my Gold pan mad at me for cheating on her.......Dig,Dig,DIg
Hog pan 2.0 would be easyer as progression flows
