Unohana’s bankai was probably one of my favorite moments, so effortlessly badass. Edit: Senjumaru’s bankai was also insane. I love that they added it into the anime, visually I think it’s my favorite one next to Minazuki.
It really shows how revolutionary Bleach is that its a shonen battle anime with not just such a diverse cast, but also a cast with so many women who almost all get their moment to shine! One of the biggest critiques that shonen anime's have is that "the girl" character is almost always stunted off to the side and never gets to do anything, i.e. Sakure from Naruto or also kind of Nobara from JJK, and yet while Bleach does KIND OF do it with Orihime, there's SO MANY other women who get their time in the spotlight! As a longtime Bleach fan, it's so fulfilling to see Bleach finally get the recognition it rightly deserves as one of the truly great animes out there!
That was her purpose. She was the strongest and her entire journey was she regretted stunting Zaraki growth so severely. Thats what made her shine. Lets not act like she was some pushover. She literally started the concept of “Kenpachi” and was literally part of the strongest generation of the Gotei 13. Also Kenny, who could basically own 95% of the verse got absolutely dog walked by her HUNDREDS OF TIMES! She killed him and immediately brought him back to life! That is badass and savage! She got her shine and moments. Lets not downplay it

Just imagine her hair as strawberry blonde instead of black, and you'll see it. I always thought Ichigo and Kuukaku were similar in personality, but the Isshin Shiba reveal really helped things click into place. Kaien and Kuukaku Shiba look like Ichigo not just due to Kubo's art style or thematic comnections, but due to their shared blood relation.
