It seems to me, as a Newmar owner, it would be prudent to follow the process to extending slide rooms and leveling the coach as shown in the Newmar owners manuals, not what an RV salesperson suggests as his opinion.

Typically I operate slides with the air bags in travel mode and the coach not leveled. In fact, most all Prevost coaches will NOT let you operate the slides if you have the leveling system engaged. It’s highly recommended to not twist the chassis through leveling before operating the slides.
I have camped in and operated many different types of RV for well over 10 years, this isn’t random advice I’ve come up with one my own. I try my best to learn from others who know more than me. First hand, I have seen slides mis behave due to the leveling system twisting the frame. I have also seen slides mis behave due to the air bags being empty, when you put the air bags in travel mode it will release stress from the upper body frame of the coach.
The Prevost Liberty’s that I have camped and travelled in are perfect examples, the slides on those buses would not work at all if you had the air leveling system engaged. It even dumps the tag axle air bag pressure to further relieve chassis stress while operating the slides.

@@rvmaxus Newmar has detailed instructions by model and it varies based on the type of slide used and how the engineers designed the coach to operate. I know foks with brands other than Newmar and their manuals tells them to the opposite of what Newmar tells me. So all I'm saying is unless you know more than the engineers at each RV Manufacturer it would be prudent to tell buyers to follow the instructions from the manufacturer. But then maybe you are a mechanical engineer and know better.

There are differing opinions on that and I always tell people that there are different opinions, in addition to providing the logic behind my own opinion. Thanks for the positive aspects of your dialogue.
